Wheres the love for Calgary?

Good Company goes out and shoots their entire film in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I've lived here for 3 years while attending the University of Calgary, and cant help but notice the massive potential for urban skiing. The cops probably support the shit, it snows in early September, and the massive industrial areas provide a mecca of gnarly features.

Why didn't Good Company mention that Calgary was the where the movie was shot? Sure there were shots of the city, C train, and other landmarks, but not once did they actually say where they were. Unless you live here you'd probably not have a clue where it was.

To me urban is all about where you shoot it. It displays the city in a unique way and generates a different type of awareness for a great Canadian city that is overshadowed by the oil crisis.

Good Company One was one hell of a movie, I just don't understand why saying it was filmed in Calgary was left out of the equation. I challenge you to find one sentence in the film or description that mentions the city. I'm interested if anybody on NS cares to share their 2 cents?

Calgary has been hit up A LOT.

Sherpas, PBP, Stept, L1 EVERYONE has filmed there.

You can find tons of old freeskier ads and stuff featuring Calgary spots. Not to mention the dozens of snowboard crews hitting up Alberta lately.

sorry for the thread jack, but how do you like U of C? Im probably just going to UBCo next year since I already live in kelowna but im really thinking about transferring there the next year after. The urban looks dope, 18yo drinking age, lots of mountains for biking & skiing etc and a change of scenery.

Both edmonton AND calgary. Plenty of the shots in one are shot in edmonton, almost as much if not as much as calgary. In the big scheme of things since they are only a 4 hour drive away, if you are coming to alberta specifically film then you my as well hit up both cites. The amount of insane urban spots here is crazy.

Also the whole film wasn't filmed in calgary. It was one of a few places they went to.
