I'm doing a bit of research here, if you guys don't mind helping!

I'm trying to find out which are the parks with good park scenes kicking around. Try to name the best one or two in the region...

If someone has already said the resort that you like best, please enter in a vote of "I" for the resort!

Then I'm going to try to map all the cool parks around North America.

Bogie is putting a lot of money into its park, but I still think that Fortune has a pretty decent park. It's got a good "scene" with lots of amazing (by my standards so maybe not so amazing) skiers there as opposed to places like Bogie that have lots of stuff that most people there wouldn't dare to hit.

I worked at edelwiess this year, the park was definately an improvement but id still rather go to Ste Marie or Avila, considering i could get into the latter for free

I ski out of Ste Marie and it sucked supremely, Edelwise was so sick and so was fortune though. The new features at fortune like the wall ride, the wide box, and the flatt-down box/rail was so sick. And all of the rails at edellwise were pretty nice, and the jump at the end was super soft.

what did calabogie have that ppl wouldnt dare hit?? i skied there all the time and the only thing i didnt hit was that silver battle ship and the down flat down flat and thats because thy were so horrably un kept, and this was my 1st year skiing park seriously

so we all fucked up what bishop wanted (except the first people) so 'll tally the scores

Pakenham

Fortune IIII

Edelweiss II

Calabogie I

Ste Marie

Avila I

shit dude are u talking bout searchmont in the Sault, if so thats so not in this region, but i do ride there sometimes

Most potential has got to be Fortune, but they are missing the boat. Management there just like at Mont Ste Marie are just not realizing that it's takes $ in the park to make $.

Fortune could kill it to the level of any good laurentian park if they just paid REAL attention to that market.

Think about it. There's not other ski hill that only 15min from the city. If Fortune had their act together they would have an incredible scene and night time opportunities would be large for events and such.

I hear Calibogie is getting better and better. But again it's not 15min away.

Put it this way, If Fortune truly worked at devoping somethign with a real pipe and safe intermieate hits it would be the biggest park around Ottawa hands down.

Pretty much any hill that addresses the park demand will get most of that business.

Fortune has really stepped it up the past 2 years. Hiring some guys as park staff really seemed to help last season.

You can't really consider Avila to be in the area of Ottawa. The only choices that really apply are Calabogie, Fortune, MSM, Pakenham, and Edelweiss. Hands down Fortune wins that battle. Just wait till you see the new park for this year too..

Fortune is stepping up this year again, more features, more area, i am not permitted to release more info at this point in time.

No doubt. Nice one.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not down on the park @ CF.

I just don't think that the ownership really cares that much about a good park at Fortune or MSM. (if you didn't know it. MSM and CF are the same ownership.

When Intrawest sold MSM to the CF owners. The new owner sold MSM's pipe dragon.

CF and MSM ownership like racing not parks. I'm not dissing the park @ Forune at all.

What I am saying is it's too bad that CF doesn't get the budget to make a real go of a park. Cause if they did the night park and park passes would be a great way to fund it.

Also think of the possible cool events they could host... especially night time events! Why not night could sick...

Think dj's .... good times...

You are totally right about fortune not caring so much about park, as their focus is on racing. But really there's not much we can do about that other than showing Fortune there is a HUGE market for park riders around here, and I think they've finally got the heads up this past year. Fortune will never be like Tremblant or Avila, it just won't happen. But they are improving and have park staff that are really pushing fortune to step it up.

Hope you are right.

At then of the day though, the thing that cost $$ is snowmaking, not a bunch of rails and boxes.

And they would prefer to point their guns on a ski hill as opposed to pointing them at the park.

however my main man Mike is moving up the ranks at fortune so there is starting to be more caring about the park, and thus the major expansion this year

Well that's good then. If Fortune puts a good effort they will have success (due to being so close) and therefore hopefully continue to build it up.

I think the biggest opportunity for parks is night skiing.

With less business in the night, why wouldn't the hills offer a more freestyle park related stuff for night passes or something...

I'm pretty sure peolple flock ot that.

On top the lift lines are way better @ night time.

Park pass is for sure required.

Ju gotta pay 2 play mannn!

Event are the best way to build up the park and the parks awareness.
