Where's a decent place to go around northern NY?

Help me out here. I just moved here from Colorado. I'm living right off I-81 at the Canada border on Wellesley Island and want to know where to go for good skiing. And when does stuff start opening? Is anything now with this little bit of snow?

I grew up in Watertown on Dry Hill. I don't reccomend it, but if you see they're getting snow, they only charge like $20 for 10-10. Make the trip to snow ridge by Lowville. They get quite a bit of lake effect.

Everybody gets one chance to do something great. Most people never take the chance, either because they're too scared, or they don't recognize it when it spits on their shoes.

I drove past Dry Hill at lunch the other day, looked like a joke but I only saw the front side. Please tell me there's a back side... And is the place at Lowville alright or just a way to get a day of skiing?

Go to Jay. The snow is good, the glades are great and its almost never crowded. Plus, it isn't a ripoff like say Stowe.

Dry hill is way-lame, but it's NY. It's just the closest thing to you. Snow Ridge is small too, but it's closer than Placid... Now you have to make do w/ what you've got.
