Where to stay in JH??

Heading to Jackson this Winter for the first time. Was thinking of staying in town vs. Teton Village. Any NSers have any thoughts, suggestions? If I stay in town, it will likely be the Marriott right in town across from Snake River Brewing. Also, how easy is the shuttle or should I drive to mountain each day?

All input appreciated.

Ski bumming for a season? Get as close to the lift as possible. Whereever the housing may be in JH.

Don't waste your time trying to park at the village, either park at the parking lot on the village road turn and take the START bus or take the START bus directly from where you are staying.

How long are you staying in JH?

Thanks. Was 99% on taking the bus to the mountain each day, but just wanted confirmation. Will only be there for about two weeks :(

Sad:(

Don't come when the crowds (unwashed masses) are here!

The Hostel is a pretty affordable place to stay, and it’s within walking distance of the tram.... the start bus is 2$ one way into Jackson. The motel 6 is also surprisingly nice, but a little more expensive if your staying more than a few days...

+1 for motel 6, stayed there before when i was in JH, clean, nice and close to town.

WIfe and I have stayed at Jackson Lodge in town for years now. Awesome place but will be pricy in season.

There’s is a shit hotel 6 or something I stayed at once with like paper thin walls and linoleum floors. Was like $45/night. Was worth $20

The jail is free, plus they feed you three meals a day. May even make some new friends there.

Stay at the hostel, you won't regret it. It's like a big skier family and you'll make so many friends if you hangout in the lobby anytime of day or night. I have lots of homies still working there and they're often in the basement wantching ski movies and going nuts. They also have Stephen, the best boot fitter/ski tuner around working downstairs. It's the most historic place in skiing and it won't be around much longer. If you come to Jackson and stay at the motel 6, you're missing out on a big part of the culture.

Also if you stay at the hostel you can wake up a good hour later for first tram and not worry about parking and all that BS. Or you could stay at the four season or Marriott like the rest of the yuppie fucks.
