Where to go skiing for a week in February.

I have a Mid-Winter Break starting on February 12, 2009 and I was wondering where I should go for the week. I am thinking about heading out west or maybe just staying on the East Coast.
If I where to go out west, I would either stay at my friend's house at Beaver Creek or I might get some other friends, rent a house, and just have a grand olde time. I have been to most of the ski resorts on the West Coast, but I when I went to them it was just with the family so I am not familiar with resorts that usually has condos/larger apartments easily available for rent. The main thing that is holding me back from going out west is the possibility of losing a full day of skiing due to traveling.
I am also considering just going up to Jay Peak on the East Coast. It is only a few hours away from where I live (NYC) and I hear that the snow conditions are above par for the East Coast. If you have any info on accommodations, insider tips, etc. can you please post them on this thread? Thanks.

Any informative replies are greatly appreciated.

Sparknotes: Mid-Winter Break (i.e., one week in February starting on the 12th) - West or East Coast?

You really can't go wrong with Utah. You have everything there that you need. If it dumps while your there than you some of the best powder out there. However if it does not you can still hit up Park City and The Canyons that have some of the best park out there. Also you can go build a sweet backcountry jump.

Is it easy to rent a condo or a house on the slopes or at the base? Also, would craigslist.com be a good website to search for a place to rent?

I'd go to Mary Jane/Winter Park. Lots of condos/apartments to rent and super sick tree and pow skiing in the Jane. It's expensive though so it might not be your best option. You could also do Utah or even go to Beaver Creek/Vail. Good skiing there too.

I've never actually skiied Beaver Creek or Vail but I was at Mary Jane all last year and I loved it. The new Panoramic Express is sick, drop straight into the trees and you can have awesome runs all day. I rarely skiied the Winter Park side though.

GO to CHICOPEE
Kitchener, Ontario500 FT. ELEVATION Amazing PARK6 lifts 14 sick opertunities to SHRED on the slope (only has 14 trails)

go to jay peak. im going on february 15 - 19 for vacation. my family goes every year. its so sick. i love going to jay because i find new little pow stashes and fun stuff to jib every time i go. nothing better than hitting up the face chutes with fresh pow.

Whistler would be sooooooo much fun, but the only question I pose is: it much better than going to somewhere in the PNW? I know both of the places and I enjoy both areas, but it seemed to be more of a hassle to go into Canada than staying in the US.
