Where to go on vacation this summer

Alright guys I just landed a pretty ballin job for this coming summer so before going back to school I want to relax and spend a week or so at some epic place.

Things I'm looking for:

-Ocean with beautiful crystal clear water

-Big ass waves/good surfing

-Cliff diving

-Scuba diving

-Preferably outside the US (aka drinking age of
 
IDK. Maybe it's just my mood, but this struck me as odd.

This is NS, it's late October, outside my window in Denver it's snowing ... and you're asking about where to go on vacation next summer. The first thing I thought was, this guy has to be from Australia and his season just ended.

No hate, just saying. Summer is the last thing on my mind right now.

Beautiful beaches

AMAZING surfing

Cliff diving

Scuba diving

drinking age seems to be around 10 years old

unlimited number of volcanoes that you can climb (bromo, merapi etc)

jungle everywhere

CHEAP AS FUCK

12 billion islands

So many CHICKS, locals and a LOT of Australians if you go to Bali.

Less tourists than Thailand.. And almost no tourist if you stay on Java, Sumatra and such (avoiding Bali, Kuta and such)

2 of the most amazing temple in the world (Borobudur & Prambanan)

TASTY food

Lots of Bars and club

Beach parties every fucking day

Go there, rent a motorbike for 1$ a day and PROFIT dude..

The only thing would be the flight, but I'm sure you could find a nice deal for less than a grand.

After that it's C.H.E.A.P

Everything said was on point. Definitely recommend everything Indo has to offer.

But Indonesia definitely isnt that cheap, at least not compared to everywhere else around there. I did Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Indo on my trip and I found Indo to be on average the most expensive. But yes, go there and you wil enjoy yourself.

So apparently people aren't allowed to be interested in anything other than skiing on here. I didn't say I was booking a trip tonight. Just interested in other peoples' experiences.

As for the people who gave legit recs, thanks and +k, I think I will look into the SE Asia islands and see what looks good.
 
You're right in a way, Indonesia can be expensive as well if you stick with Bali/Kuta and stay in high end hotels.

As for the rest, I found Thailand a lil more expensive than Indo, but Laos and Cambodia are cheaper yes. Both of those countries are amazing as well and everybody should check out Laos and Cambodia before it becomes too touristy.

But as far as what the OP asked, Indo seems like the better choice compared to the rest of SE Asia.

And if he end up going there, please do not miss on the Dieng Plateau. It's in the middle of Java, at around 2000m high, with volcanoes and natural volcanic hot springs. The way there is AMAZING with some of the most beautiful scenery I've seen in my life (and trust me I've seen a bunch). It's out of the backpacker trail so you'll have to stop at train station in the middle of no where, take some local bus on some sketchy roads but that's what nice about it. You'll remember it till the rest of you life.

Totally agree. If you want the whole "holy shit im in a jungle wonder land, everywhere i look is mind blowingly awesome life is amazing" Indo definitely stands out in the South East Asia region. Wish I had spent some time in other places in Indo, I was only on Bali for a short ime, but was on the Gili islands for a while then spent like a mont in Kuta, Lombok. Anyone who goes there HAS to go to Lombok, fucking loved that island - so rugged and to the basics, it was definitely one of my favorite places from my trip. And get there fast! Right now an international airport is being built on Lombok so pretty soon it'll be the next Bali!
 
Belize! My grandparents live there and its a ball every time. Its extremely similar to Mexico and Costa Rica except its about 1/10 the price and only downside is that the reef blocks the waves and beaches aren't huge. It's beautiful there. Jungle, EPIC snorkeling/scuba diving. Its boss there.

just got back from 3 weeks in costa/panama.

if you wana rock, go to bocas del toro panama, 50 cent beers, 2 bucks is the most you'll spend on a beer if there are no deals going on, super pretty women all over the place, beaches are out of control beautiful, fried chicken is unreal and cheep.

bud and coke (if thats your thing) both cost 4 bucks a gram

you can go crazy partying with transportation (water taxis) and not spend more than 20 bucks a night.

Doesnt hurt you can snag a nice private double hostal for under 25 bucks a night. Yea its not $ 1.5 a night like it is in thailand/cambodia but is also doesnt cost $ 1000 to get there. you can get to costa/panama for about 400 round trip.

thailand, loas, vietnam, and cambodia-are my next trip. Hoping to do 3 months backpacking between indian and thailand, loas, vietnam, and cambodia
