Where to go early or mid March.

I’ll be in Oregon early to mid March then back at hood in July for Windells.

Where are good places to go around this time?

Last year I spent nearly the entire season at Mt. Bachelor so I’m not really interested in going there this season.

Potentially every ski area in the state is fun around then. What do you like to ski

I’ll be in Oregon to work, ski and check everything out. The only times I’ve ever skied in Oregon is at Bachelor last winter or Timberline in the summer.

My work might move me to Oregon or Idaho next winter. I like the idea of nearly year round skiing at Timberline, but not if there’s no park scene and the winter skiing at Hood is lame. Kinda worries me that there aren’t many Oregon regional posts here.

I like jumps, halfpipes, some jibs (mostly boxes), would like to get more into backcountry. I can have fun on nearly any terrain, I just hate heavy wet snow that’s found in the Reno/ Tahoe area. I’ll be more checking out the snow quality then the terrain.

[tag=209753]@OregonDead[/tag] knows. Sounds like you are familiar with Bachelor, Hood is very similar when it comes to the winter skiing, higher moisture snow(wet, heavy). Ski Bowl has the terrain but is lower on the volcano so it doesnt get the snow levels as Timberline or Meadows. I personally have done passes at all 3 resorts and Meadows has been the best for me due to the snow conditions, terrain options and having decent parks. Im not saying one is better than the other, Meadows just works better for me. As for Idaho, Bogus Basin in Boise isnt a bad resort, just needs to get more snow(like any resort). Boise seems to be a little warmer than the other side of the state, but if you are on the east side of Idaho you have access to SLC resorts, Targhee, Jackson, Pebble Creek all within a 2-3 hour drive.

Hood definitely if you are looking for parks. Meadows and timberline spring passes start early march so either of those would be the move. Imo timberline parks are the better of the two, but meadows terrain is definitely sicker and theyve been stepping up their parks recently. Cant really go wrong either way.

Was at Bachelor almost all of last season working at Facebook in Prineville. Got tons of pow, some days white out conditions.

Looking forward to checking out Hood in the winter early March. Only have been there in the summer or drive through Hood in the winter to get to Portland (BMX riding at the lumberyard).

I skied Bogus a year ago and still think about it. Possibly even move to Idaho. I mountain bike and ride BMX in the summer, but skiing is what I’m really into. With nearly year round skiing at Timberline, Oregon May be a good move. I really liked the people in Idaho, very polite and friendly.

I thought the constant snow at Bachelor last season was pretty dry. Nowhere near as wet as the snow in Nevada at rosebowl, I could barely get any speed on that grippy wet snow.

Yeah meadows spring pass goes on sale tomorrow and is good nights only until march 9th when it becomes good for full days. Season will probably end at meadows mid may, timberline spring pass goes til june

Meadows probably won't make it to Mother's day. Timberline will turn lifts until Labor day. Summer season passes etc. start after Memorial day at Timberline so the winter and spring passes are good until then
