i just made the decision today of univeristy of utah, and i had to choice between there, ubc, and cu boulder.

yea for a while i was focusing mainly on skiing and then i realized that i didn't want to throw away my college education just so i can go skiing... i'll do that on break or something

I'm not questioning the value of a decent education. My philosophy is simply that your life needs a healthy balance between work and play. Regardless of your age, 16, 21, 35, 67, life is much more fulfilling if you can get a little of both.

As for college choices, their are plenty of decent schools within reasonable distance of skiing.

go to UBC. it's big, nice, near skiing, and has good academics. and it's pretty darn cheap. my sis goes there, and i want to.

Obviously you shouldn't choose a college purely proximity to a ski area...but I was making the assumption that secondgeneration_skier was already smart enough to figure that out. He did ask for a "decent college" close to skiing. You are arguing with a brick wall.

I agree with with the idea that you need to consider both you education AND lifestyle when selecting a college. If you select a collage ONLY for education, you will end up just another dime-a-dosen drone in the workforce. There is more to life than working you ass off for the paycheck. He said, and I quote, "yo wheres there a decent college i can go to that is with in like an hours distance of some sick skiing?" He is considering both his education and his lifestyle. We shouldn't be having this argument.

exactly how good is the education of uvm? i like burlington and skiing is right there. the "lifestyle" side is sick. but im not sure if it has a good education system. as far as i know, its sort of like "meh."
