livin' in seattle, thinkin' either Alpental or Stevens Pass, any opinions? ive only been to stevens, though thinking alpental cause its closer

stevens for sure. I live closer to Snoqualmie, but it is worth the drive to go to stevens. Snow lasts longer, better jumps, more options for backcountry and pow skiing.overall a better mountain

alpental is always open later than stevens.

and all we ever hear from you stevens people is that the park isn't as good as it should be.

college pass at snoqualmie is like $300 and 45mins from seattle instead of and hour and a half to stevens... if the roads are decent.

College passes are the same in price. Crowds are bad at either location.

Snoqualmie is closer and the roads are always in driveable conditions. They do have the best park in WA. But its low, the terrain sucks balls (except for Alpental) and its ski school central. Get used to rain.

Stevens is higher, and thus gets snow more often than Snoqualmie. Its got better terrain than most of Snoqualmie, even more if you dont mind a short hike. The park is usually a disgrace. When it snows hard, expect the power to go out, and the roads to be an absolute nightmare. Also expect an hour of sitting stopped on US 2 near Sultan if you leave at the end of a day when night skiing isnt open.

All in all, Stevens is worth it because of the snow and the accessible terrain. Alpental is good, but hit that in the spring when they offer cheap lift tickets, and ski twice the amount of that kind of terrain at Stevens. every day, in better snow conditions.

If the forecast for this winter holds true (colder than normal) I would go with snoqualmie. Stevens tends to have the bigger better jumps, but you probably don't really care about that

The Summit hands down, it has just as good backcountry and a solid park...it just seems like if you live in Seattle you will get more skiing done at Alpental just 'cause its closer. Hell, I skied into May last year, and its 45 minutes away from campus.

id definetly go with stevens cuz of their park but they do have some sick back country and stuff like that but dont go to snoqualmie it always rains there! but at stevens its kinda packed on the weekends!

^^^ This is not a park "war" thread... Someone wants to know were to get a pass. So if you want a real mountain and atleast 3 sick jumps then Stevens is the spot.

Fuck stevens. it sucks , the snow is shitty, the park sucks. there is no powder, the mountain is flat, and everyone who works there is a fag. STAY FAR AWAY.

Well I just ended up biting the bullet and buying my Big S unlimited for Summit. Hope to see some of you there.
