Where to download a program like paint for macs?

anybody have a suggestion? i need a program -pretty basic - to make a background. i need sometihgn like paint, where you can take pictures you have saved and insert them.
p.s. i suck at computer stuff

there is also a free program called seashore. It works very well and is very similar to ms paint.
