WHERE TO BUY GEAR?

hey guys where abouts is the best place to buy ski gear in downtown Vancouver? i'm staying in Granville st and kinda want somewhere close thats cheap and has most brands in stock!
 
There's nowhere downtown anymore, but you want to go to Comor. Burrard and W 4th avenue, 5 minutes past the south end of the Burrard St. Bridge.
 
while the location might work for you, don't expect it to be cheap... not that you're gonna find anything really cheap in van anyways.
 
It's the ski industry and it's retail... it's not going to be pro form, but I assume no one is dumb enough to expect that. Comor is still cheaper than other local shops selling Line, Armada, etc. Besides, much of what you're paying for is the expertise of the staff; I know you think you know what you're talking about but I promise, Dallas knows more! This is all particularly useful if you're buying boots which really should be bought retail.
 
yeah for sure. i wasn't saying anything bad about comor, people there have done some good stuff for me, but i was just letting him know that if he's looking for cheap he's not gonna find it in van.
 
yer i know shit expensive everywhere but....i wanna buy it all at the same place so i don't mind paying a little extra for the advice! do u know if they sell dabello boots?
 
Comor has the best prices, and I'm not ragging on them, but last year I bought my skis there and it took something like a month and a half to get a pair of wide brakes in from Rossi, and 3 calls before that. Regardless, good product selection, and maybe the best staff wasn't there when I purchased my skis (been back since and had good service).

However, for ski repairs and servicing, I still trust snowcovers more. You might pay a bit more, but the techs have a lot of experience there and know what they are doing extremely well.
 
Comor is great. The people are chill, and the stuff is good. I'm sure by now they have the full stock of stuff. I haven't been since the Idea premiere in October.
 
turns out that comor don't stock the chronics or dalbello. anybody know somewhere that does cause i really want the dalbello's and the chronics!
 
chronics you will find at north shore ski and board on lonsdale in north van

dalbello you will find at destination ski on marine drive in north van (and i think they might also have chronics)

both shops are really easy to get to by seabus and 1 bus
