WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE

yeah after a bunch of chick flicks and gamer, i hope gerard is on the upswing again

though i must say ps i love you was a good movie. never saw the one with katherine heigl though

It's my girlfriends all time favourite. Her copy is soooo worn out..

I loved the book when I was young. And I'm stoked for it to come out in theatres. Hopefully it comes to Golden

I just found at Karen O. from the "Yeah yeah yeahs" did the soundtrack, i have not listened to it, but i am sure it is pretty damn good.

ill see it, definitely a good memory from childhood, but i am kinda annoyed that it will be the "trendy" movie to see especially for all the kids who think they're artsy.

I am kind of confused why everyone wants to see this. I vaguely remember the book, but wasn't the book way more about the illustrations than the story? This movie does not look good but let me know what you guys think.

We've all experienced the book in some way or another (except for Mr. Panda, haha), its a classic. Its 10 lines long that tells a great story of imagination. The previews for this movie give you the feeling of being a kid inside again. Seeing a classic book turned into a movie can be detrimental for some, but liberating for others. I think this movie is going to be cute as hell, for both an adult and children. LET THE WILD RUMPUS START! Get back with your inner child yo =)

depressing as in, fuck my life depressing, not bad movie depressing. solid film, though kinda feels long. if you aren't stoked as fuck on life beforehand, then you will probably leave feeling extremely down.

i definitely teard up at the end fffuuuuuu
but it was visually STUNNING and the set design was absolutely amazing, story was really great too, super solid movie but kind of a downer

this.
all the faggot hipsters say nothing but how stoked they are and how they are going as a group to watch it (or fuck up the movie for people like me) but they get stoked on it only after a kid who is truly excited brings up how they have be waiting for this since the trailer dropped like a year ago. i dislike most hipsters. not the ones who started it, just the ones who want to be indie and take it as far as they can and just be little pricks /rant
i am excited to see it this was one my favorite books as a child for my mother to read to me. up there with berenstien bears for sure. i want to see how this childrens book of about 6 sentences plays out as a full length movie.
i'll post my response after i see it tonight or tomorrow though it will probably be sold out

i just got back from it. there were some parts that were truly incredible, like when they were building the fort, but seriously i thought it would be happy and in some ways life changing. it was definitley sad, and almost everyone in the theater cried. the movie was good, the ending was quick yet moving. id give it a 7/10?

OMG.

i saw it. and

i honestly believe that it was a bit boring at times. some of the stuff was amazing, and some were a bit scary (when carol loses his anger) at the end i was crying a lot hahah .

i think that you need to have personal connections to the movie, and be able to understand and put yourself in the characters shoes to actually like this movie. i dont think its a good kids movie.

they really extrapolated the storyline and made it into a more dramatic adult movie, but i liked it.

if you go in expecting some awesome kids story you wont get it.

all in all a solid movie

This is pretty much true.

The official trailer made it look really good, but with all the different commercials playing every 20 seconds, it makes it seem like it won't be as good anymore. The kid is starting to bug me because of the commercials.

^^^ Yeah I saw it last night, the crowd was full of trendies and hipsters who were supper annoying....

I thought it was a good flick though...sort of ended up being how I imagined it to be...

Its not about reading the book, its about having experience with the book. Reading it now probably won't do anything for you. Its just going to be a book of 10 lines to a story you already know.

Though, you should do it just for the sake of doing it =)

im glad its depressing, there needs to be more kids movies that arent all just happy and everythings great. like look at the land before time, that was fucking sad, same with bambi, plus a ton more that i cant remember the name of. i remember being like 4 and getting depressed for days after watching these movies, and thats hard to with a little kid since your mood changes so fast.

i bet your experience is gonna be cooler than everyone else's because you'll be high as a plane BRO, am i right???

That is a good description of the film. I went to wild things tonight and loved the movie. All throughout i grinned from ear to ear, I laughed, winced, my eyes watered shyly, I'm inspired to go have an adventure right now.

At first i was pretty pissed after watching it because it wasn't really what i expected/remembered from reading the book as a kid, but after i thought about it more it grew on me. it was super depressing and really uplifting at the same time. i thought it showed the highs and lows of life and how quickly good times can go to to shit and vice versa. all in all a really deep, meaningful experience in my opinion.
