Where should i ski bum

i am taking a year off before college to do the whole ski bumming thing. I wanna be somewhere out west but where should i go
 
colorado would be tuff cuz so many people try and do it there. but the night life is unbeatable!! CA has the worst of the snow but good night life too. Utah has an ok night life in PC area and its easy to bum there. My opinion, CO but not somewhere too popular unless you get there early enough to grab a cooks job-breck prob
 
dude i used to live in france and am bilingual, im totally guna try skibumming a year in the french alps
 
In school I said one of my life goals is to be a ski bum. I got talked to after class about having "real" goals.
 
I'm doing the same, planning on tahoe, will apply to snowbird too. I've already got a ski test and interview for ski patrol at ahhh...northstar. Looking else aswell
 
yeah, im gonna have to say zermatt switzerland, i go once a year and its unreal, the runs are so long and the village is awesome too
 
haha that happened to me in third grade when i told a teacher i wanted to live out of a van and ski year round when i grew up.
 
salt lake city is the cheapest closest place to ski resorts I've ever seen, not to mention the radest ski resorts ever, either that or jackson
 
u can get a ncie house for sooo cheap in cotton wood hieghts, the suburb of salt lake city right before u enter the canyons were alta, snowbird, brighton, and solitude are.
 
Man, you really should go to europe- you may not get another excuse. The nightlife's way better:drinking age 16, so you can take advantage of young drunk chicks... just kidding about that!

The Mtns are gnarly, people more diverse and interesting and newschool is really taking off now.

best freestyle resorts are laax or Are in Sweden. Best Big Mtn resorts are chamonix, verbier or engelberg. Val d'isere or verbier is best all round, plus both are filled with Scandanavian girls and english is spoken well.

trust, not in val or verbier, more than half the season workers there aren't french, most are english or scandinavian.

Dont go to Utah unless you aren't interested in women or nightlife. yes the skiing is really good but the scene is absolutely miserable. go to europe and gain some cultural education while skiing incredible mountains and partying with beautiful women living in a place with facinating history. you will learn more about life living in europe for a year than you will in your 4 years of college. plus it is waaaaaaaaay cooler than the lame bro/brah scene in the western US.

Or I guess you could go to Salt Lake/Park City and hang with the mormons and a bunch of dudes.
 
Work at Breck or Key breck terrace is pretty cheep close to mountian great time dont!! work as a liftie be a scanner or work as a cook or in the parking lot but scanner would be the best you get the most ride breaks.
 
plus you might end up marrying the daughter of some old-money euro family and spend your summers in Monaco eating Iranian caviar and racing dolphins in the Maldives with Donatella Versace.
 
exactly. look at olsson- did his seasons in europe, now lives the life skiing in winter, chillin in monaco with beautiful wife/girlfriend in summer.

Man, i've skied all these resorts, plus a few in the us. sure, the us resorts have better park and pipe, but as for the rest, no comparison.

pub mont fort in verbier, le rond point in meribel pacific bar or dicks tea bar in val d'isere all kill it on the night scene- work at one of these, you'll have a sick season, even if it doesn't snow!
 
My mom told me the same shit. Maybe she's right.

Now she's pissed I want to move away and ski though.

Europe sounds sick I haven't really weighed that as an option. Do you want to work for the mountain somewhere like Val?
 
Im doing the same thing, except im doing it to get in state tuition in colorado or utah. Im kinda leaning towards utah...

if anyones looking to do the same, i need roommates, and i dont think i could find better people anywhere else lol
 
you considered going to Europe? As a norwegian i would recommend Norway lol! Great snow, pretty good nightlife and some of the hottest girls in the world!
