I have heard a lot of people saying you shouldnt get them center mounted. what do you guys think?

Info:

I ski park and all mountain, I want to hit rails, jumps and butter everywhere but i also want to charge off trail and on groomers. I would say off trail 50% and Park 50%

also curious. got some 176's from another NS'er as rock skis which are center mounted and it's definitely a little scary to really lean forward and pressure them, when the ones I preordered come in I'm not sure where to mount them. I was thinking -1 or -2, may just go in between.

i highly recommend mounting them at recommended, which oddly enough is not marked on the skis (mine at least)-- you just gotta check the pdf they gave out but didnt really publicize

here's the one from the year i got mine. to be safe id look for the current one but i dont think the skis have changed in any way that would make this not apply just fine for yours

Thanks for the feedback.

I will problably mount them 1cm back because of the where i will be skiing most of my time.

I skied 98% park on my test pair and was happy at true centre. The skis do feel a bit unbalanced on snow because you have loads of contact on snow in the tail and not much in the nose but given that I was riding almost all park and almost all rails that's still what i'd choose for the balanced swingweight. For a more normal ski use I think I'd go with -2cm.

You should note that (within reason) no matter how far back you go, you will still have more flat running length in the tail than tip. I haven't actually got my skis with me right now to measure but I would guesstimate the nose rise is around 25-30cm from tip to flat contact whereas the tiny tail is probably 5-8cm long.

I read your review on the ski and that was why I was considering mounting it further back. Since you said you skied 98% park I most definitely will be mounting them -1 because I will be skiing lots of off trail.

Thanks for the info
