I'm gonna to CO during January, I'll be near loveland and a basin. My dad wants to try somewhere else where we can get some amazing pow skiing in, where should I go? Somewhere close would be cool but we're willing to travel.

just a heads up, dec and jan are usually considered to be the driest months of the colorado winter. so it maybe challenging to find amazing pow

you could try vail which would be close but if your willing to take a trip i would go to crested butte

By near Loveland and A Basin you mean in Frisco/Dillon/Silverthorne I assume?

Steamboat for a day trip is a bit long but if there's fresh snow there def. worth it....cool drive too. Probably about 2 hours from there to the mountain though.

Otherwise you've got yourselves covered with Loveland and A Basin....if its not snowed for a while I wouldn't bother with A Bay...try Breck or Copper.

A day trip to Steamboat is a terrible idea. If there is fresh snow, Rabbit Ears Pass is going to be a shitty drive. If there isn't snow, it's not worth it. Don't go to Steamboat.

yea my dad wanted to try cat skiing. but honestly, as long as there's some almost deep/deep snow then thats fine by me. I think when I go I stay in Arvada at my grandparents house.

Plus does anyone know of some places where you could rent ski for more than 1 day? I want to rent something big just for the lulz (i'm from NJ and don't get to ski big stuff). And I feel like my disorderlys won't farewell in deep snow or on a plane ride (the cost).
