You know what? I agree with so mcuh poit says, but so little at the same time. The U.S. you see today is a product of capitalism and free enterprise, which inhernetly makes the country run by big buisiness and extremely rich people, and I hate that. But it's happened to the whole world in one way or another, pretty much every modernized country in the world's currency is based on economic value instead of some kind of hard asset like gold. That's why everything is based on the MONEY market, not gold, or platinum or cow manure... Basically saying, if what you obviously wish would happen to the U.S. i.e. our money becoming worthless ala post WW I Germany, and our economy collapse get ready for the fun up in Canada. In todays global economy if we go I could probably name over 20 to 30 countries that would probably follow suit within hours, including Canada, must be the best country in the world for what I've heard in these forums. It's true our government has way too many programs and control, which are draining the middle and lower classes pockets. Our government obviously feels it needs to be the world police or something, kind of like we have emminent domain over the entire world. In the latest case, or war against terrorism, which I've personally participated in... We're trying to stem a problem with violence, when the only thing we're causing is more hate and violence against us. Terrorists are extremely ignorant, and we're no different, we need to find another way to solve that problem. The U.S. is in desperate need of rethinking it's role in the world, my opinion is we need to diminish our global presence, or suffer more attacks like we've seen. Going back to the good ol' days isn't going to fix it, and niether is some crazy new political system. It needs to start with the people. But as long as we have the current media, and corporations pacifeing the U.S. population into oblivious ignorance it won't happen. Movies like 'Equilibrium' kind of sum it up in my mind as to the future of our country. I care alot about my home, and you can't diss a country who brought about a political system and a revolution unheard of when we rebelled against the British. But instead of trying to come up with a solution to the current state of things many leaders politicians, businessmen, and ordinary people have only gone to insult us, degrade us, and anything else that is unconstructive that people do. Maybe instead of busting on us and exploring the negatives we all need to explore the possiblities of a solution that would bring eventual change to the world. This is a ski website, but it can be so much more if you open your mind.
