Where in colorado?

Snowmass without a doubt. Best all around mountain IMO and you have Highlands and Aspen if you get bored with it (which you won't) and Buttermilk if you get bored with Snowmass' park (which you won't).

Plus, Aspen/Snowmass has soooooooo many sexy Argentinian girls.
 
Just apply for jobs around where you think you might want to live. if you want to live in summit apply at all the mountains in the area there. I applied at Park City, Breckenridge, Keystone, A-Basin, Beaver Creek and Vail. I also went to a job fair in chicago for vail resorts and had a couple interviews with people from different resorts. When I showed them my resume one of them was like I have seen this one before which helped. So when everything ended. I had 3 job offers to groom from Park City, Beaver Creek, and Vail..

I went with Vail the guy that hired me went to school for the same thing I did which was ski area management. Plus a couple guys I went to school with where already working out there. the best 2 years ever.

There is no way I would ever live in Breck. The Bro-Brah scene there is retarded. I guess if you're under 21, and love house parties with 20 guys and 1 girl, then have fun. Plus, the mountain is boring as hell.

I currently live in Vail. Although it's not a perfect city, I much prefer it to Breck/Silverthorne/Dillon. We have a pretty fun resort, with a decent park, and actual snowfall. And even though it's a tourist draw, it's more than big enough to handle the crowds.

But lets be honest, if you really want to move west and ride powder, just keep on driving right through Colorado and don't stop until you get to Salt Lake City.
 
Utah is awesome and all in terms of skiing, but this guy is asking about CO. Don't let your beef against the people you've experienced in Vail/CO in general deter someone from wanting to move here. Just because it's not your scene doesn't mean you should tell someone not to move here. If I remember correctly, you haven't been here very long and haven't had much of a chance to explore the state.

Really great post.

So many of these threads turn into "Don't go to Summit, it sucks!"....well yeah, if you're the kind of guy who gets up at 7am to chase powder, owns a dog, and lives in an RV, it might not exactly be your scene. But, if you like to ride park, party, have access to Denver, and have the option to explore a number of very different resorts, Summit is a great place.

So much is made about the over crowding and the truth is most locals I know here structure their work/school schedules around skiing or boarding. For example, I work 40 hours between Thurs and Sunday, and am still able to ski AT LEAST Monday thru Thursday, often Friday.
 
after living and skiing in colorado for 9 years, definitely your best bet would be breck/summit area. it's a great town surrounded by 4 good mountains and you can't go wrong. between a basin and breck you can get powder whenever, then keystone and breck have the legendary parks. just my opinion
 
agreed. also if you wanna head out to Vail its not that far and just head out into east vail instead of staying inbounds (with the right gear). I personally like the vibe in summit county as a young skier. Theres lots of other kids up there on the same page and there is stuff going on. If theres no new snow then there are the most perfect parks anyone could ask for. I'm 23 and ill probably spend a 2-3 more years here in CO. While I can take the beatings in the park and still want to ski them. After that ill probably head to Jackson or possibly tahoe.
