Where in colorado?

but i did read your post. you said it took you 3 hours because 2 trucks were blocking both lanes up one hill. how did that delay what you call 1.45hrs drive to 3hrs? you obviously can't drive, or are just really slow dude. it takes me 1.5hrs to get to abasin from foco, so theres no way it should take you that long from denver.

and you're right, I bought an epic pass for $225 last season to ski once. you got me....or you just cant drive and need to get over it

because it takes me to get to my house in parker about an 1 and 45 minutes and these trucks tied up the road from the weigh station till he finally passed him around the red rocks exit, so going that slow behind trucks in both lanes ties things up, and the other time there happened to be a truck flip and shut down 70 that day took around 4+ hours to get home since 6 and 40 were backed up also.

and that is just two times this summer, and trucks docking around on 70 happens more often then you think.

bottom line is don't move to denver it is smoggy, over populated, and well no mountains at all. go into summit / eagle area and you won't be disappointed.

and you bought a summit pass? i think they were offered at 225 right?

and I usually try and do 5-10 over the speed limit when possible, and i don't see how you can say you don't have to be alert driving 70 it is by far not a drive you can make without paying attention all the time, every retard slows down in the tunnel so you can't use cruise, and then when you get behind a truck or rv or some texan you get slowed down, plus the curves with the hills make it so you have to be alert constantly.

I really don't get it. I drove i70 denver to summit 25+ times last winter. It took longer than 2 hours maybe twice all season.

Breck for sure. you get pow a decent bit and you have some of the biggest features in the whole state, plus there are a shit ton of NS'ers there to chill/ski with

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&gl=us&q=denver&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1335&bih=784&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x876b80aa231f17cf:0x118ef4f8278a36d6,Denver,+CO&gl=us&ei=GcQ0TrXLNsbYiAK78YHECA&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CB4Q8gEwAA

google maps from the middle of denver to the abasin exit is exactly 1 hour. just stop posting, you're wrong. and you're calling me dumb and say im an imcompetant fool, and I can't comprehend what you write? are you serious?

no, I didnt get the summit pass(re-read my post). I got the epic pass last year, yes for $225 (I know it is 650 normally, I got a deal). no shit there are no mountains in denver, but there are no mountains in SLC either, right?

not once did I say you shouldnt be alert when driving on I70. I said that its the easiest mountain/canyon road ive driven on out of 6 different states and 5 resorts in NZ. you're driving through the mountains, you obviously have to watch what you're doing, but compared to anywhere else ive driven, utah, nz, and back roads through vt are waaaay worse overall. sure theres a couple sketchy turns, but its still all 2 lanes and properly paved highway road.

then you call people retards for slowing down in a spot that's actually needed? coming out of the tunnel you have no clue whats on the other side, therefore you should slow down.

my advice to you: spot posting on NS, you look like a 'tard. before you try to comment on driving again, you should put down the fake plastic steering wheel mommy gave you when you were 6, get your permit, and learn how to drive. until then, tell your mom she's driving too slow, and she should concentrate on the road instead of my dick.

In list of places to live that all have great skiing, but based on the city/town

Aspen

Breck

Vail

other.

Also check out like idaho springs and glenwood springs.

Not at the base, but really close

i get hour 36 to breck from google maps? and thats from the center of denver. naturally if you live in golden it will be closer. if you live near me around parker it takes around an hour 45. google maps shows an hour 55 from my address. so you can go shove it up your ass.

i dont live in golden? the original post that I said was from denver to a basin in an hour...then you said it takes longer than an hour from denver. so i can shove it up my ass that you were wrong? i dont get it...

first I would not want to drive from denver to summit every day to ski, if it happens to be dumping it can take way over an hour 15. Why deal with that when you can just live right in Breck and walk to the lifts in the morning. I recommend you start in summit and then try Aspen the following year. There are lots of kids in summit, you get to ski a ton of mountains in close proximity to each other on the same pass, you still are near enough to Denver and boulder to drive out for concerts and premiers/events in the evenings. Aspen would be a cool experience and the pow skiing would be nice, but if you really want BC you should move to Utah or Jackson. Find a few friends in summit and switch it up each year and live in different areas

ugly place? ive been there the last 10 days and its such a beatiful place. i could see living there getting a little isolating but there is a redic amount of ski bums so at least your with your own kind haha.

totally agree, Im not about to complain about an hour thirty minute drive when people from around the world come to ski here

def breck, they have a sick park, thats not too crazy but mellow and awesome and its a chill mountain, and your close to keystone which has a51 which is sweet too, but keystone seems like a bad plac to work everybody that works there are dicks

any town is better than breck. you fags from california and reno took it over and turned it into a bruhbrah hangout

I really hope you're not seriously considering Breckinridge or keystone unless you ski 100% park because that's the only part of either of those mountains that's worth two shits. Summit county is always crowded as fuck and inundated with asshole tourists who think they own the place. But really other than the park breck sucks major cock. I would go somewhere with some breathing room where you'll actually have a chance of seeing some pow.

My suggestion although i am not the biggest breck fan. (i was just there doing a little research on where i might move in december) Would be Breck its a stones trow from A Basin which has some of the gnarlest lines i have seen in Colorado and also loveland which has some of the best pow days compared to steamboat.
The night life for being summer was pretty dead, but frisco was pretty cool to get a few beers in and just chill. At the golden pan in Breck they had a pretty decent DJ actually so good music cheap beers and you supply the chicks.
Good luck finding the right spot. Who know you might see me out there come December.

this. I would say not CO to begin with, there's so many better places, Why are you set on going there? but if it has to be CO Id go with steamboat.

steamboat are you kidding me? sure there's a few fun trees and lots of pow stashes but it's nowhere near the best skiing in CO. that's reserved for silverton/butte/love/abay

You're stupid dude. those "pow stashes" are where some of the best powder in the world lies. crested butt sucks, and are you seriously comparing loveland to steamboat? hahaha. abasin is fun too but i would easily call steamboat some of the best pow skiing in CO

okay, pow is fun but not when it's a bunch of low angle trees the whole way, thats for lame ass snowboarders. I love cruisin as much as the next guy but steep's are what I classify as "best pow skiing". I could give a fuck about champaign powder, with the technology of today's skis it really doesn't make much of a difference what consistency of pow it is. If you think it does you're ignorant.

how can you say the butte sucks? do you really just wanna ski a boring ass park and boring ass low angle trees all day? your idea of fun is hardly a rush in any sense. I go skiing to push the limits and try crazy shit, not to just chilllll and smoke weed in shacks all day (not that I havent).

the consistency of the snow definatly matters dude.

Steamboat has its share of steeps, even though there isn't that much. I guess you don't know where to ski in steamboat.

And if you're so worried about how much fun you can have, then it's you who is the problem, not where you're skiing or what skis you're on. I can try plenty of crazy shit and get a rush

*definitely

steamboat's steeps suck. I've skied buffalo pass a lot and know the area quite well, probably better than you. I get it, you live there and have to rep it. but quit while you're ahead. I never said I didn't have fun skiing low angles trees, I just don't prefer it because I can do that anywhere.

but get real now, ski pow on some ARG type skis in steamboat and silverton and tell me if you can actually tell the difference in snow quality. I bet you can't.

do you realize how big of a condescending douche bag you sound like?
telluride/cresty better for steeps obviouslysteamboat better for pow obviously
you sound like a fucking idiot saying the quality of snow doesnt matter. fucking moron.

Dude there is no way it is a 1 hr drive from Denver to Breck, stop giving this kid a false impression. I would say it takes on avg 1.5 hours to get to Breck from Denver, and it can easily be 2-3 x that if there is traffic. Stay in summit county if you want to ski Breck/Key, don't make yourself have a huge commute every time you want to go shred for no reason at all.

however he did claim he was poor, and thought all homeless people were just lazy that they didnt take advantage of the same opportunities he himself was given.

he also said that he especially hated black homeless people.

if you have a backcountry setup and want epic BC then live where i live. fort lewis is a legit and easy school too
