Where do you want to ski bum at?

Name one town/area/resort you would want to ski bum it for a winter and drop everything your doing. Give an explanation why.

My pick is Utah/Wasatch because that shit is light as far as I'm concerned.

I am currently living in Leadville and skiing at Copper mountain, I honestly love it and would do it again, but if I was to do a season somewhere, right now it would be Bend Oregon, for love of craft beer, snow, and terrain parks, mount bachelor seems awesome.

I'm planning to spend the 16-17 season in Jackson hole if anybody wants to be my roommate. If I can't split the cost with anybody, I'm going to have to work at the hill and stay in employee housing.

Chose Jackson because it is a massive playground, great vert, and a shit-ton of snow.

Jackson is up there in my choices too. I haven't been there but it looks awesome. I'm ski bumming for this next season too. Haven't picked a spot yet

Austria. You can get a pass that costs 570 euros, which gives access to 87 ski resorts including Stubai, Hintertux etc. Travelling from resort to resort in a camper with friends sounds soo awesome.

North Lake Tahoe anyday of the week....squaw/alpine hard to beat pretty much anywhere in the world

I spent my ski bum years at Squaw and I am glad I did. The mountain rocks, they get a lot of snow when it is not a drought, and the drought is unlikely to continue although no one can know, and the season is long, they are going until Memorial Day this year and did when I was there.

Jackson would rock too, but I have heard it is more expensive than Tahoe. Also, they tend to close earlier, I believe they are on forest service land or something like that.

You should try to get a job that allows you to work nights if possible. You are there to ski all day, not work.

HOLY SHIT LEADVILLE HAS INTERNET?!?!

Where do I want to bum? MOFU I've been bumming in Aspen for 6 Seasons. Get with times and start bumming now,

Brighton, it is where every sick edit is filmed and the park is tight. The snow is also nice and there is some fun playful terrain if you want. If it gets boring Solitude is right there for some steep groomers. Alta and snowbird are also super close

Yeah that whole area is cool. Night skiid there. I like it a lot seems like you have a lot of options if you get bored of a certain mountain.

Revelstoke! Heard they have something called deep pow up there. Also looking for people to rent together with. Would rather live with some NS members than random people who doesnt know what a lip on blind 2 is...

Planning on working/living at either Crystal Mtn or Baker next season. I know a ton more people at crystal, and that's where i currently ski, so I'm leaning towards that

how has whis not been mentioned yet lol

That was where I wanted to go originally. Getting a citizenship, health insurance, car registration, and a few other things really drove up the cost of a single season. It would be sick tho

Definately Chamonix. Where else can you see Rødhad playing a banging set in a mountain cafe? Oh yeah the terrain as well

did it last year in Crested Butte after i graduated high school. Never been to a better "ski town." Been going to North lake Tahoe since I was a kid and it doesn't even come close. Full plans to move there after I graduate college and spend the rest of my life there

Curious as to what you thought was better about it. I have never been to Crested Butte so I would not know. Was it the town you liked or the mountain?

Both. The mountain has some really crazy lift accessible terrain. A lot like squaw but an even smaller mountain. It was super easy to push myself every day i went skiing there which was awesome. The town is that classic quarter mile long street with everything you need on it. What i really liked though was the bus system. I didn't have a car but every 15 minutes from 8 am to midnight i could get anywhere from the mountain down to town and back up. I worked two restaurant jobs for 30+ hours a week and skied almost 100 days and I was 18. That place is heaven on earth. Ive been skiing all the vail resorts this year on the epic pass cuz i go to school in denver and CB really is colorado's last great ski town. Im sure telluride is a lot similar too

wow no one has said Alaska yet. My answer is Thompson Pass tailgate... it's the next step for those of us who've been skiing resorts for years, gaining backcountry experience, and gearing up for bigger excursions in huge terrain.

In late winter migrate to AK and live in a RV or truck camper. Snowmobile access and occasional heli drops. If not enough $$ saved up to just camp and ski, then work at one of the heliski lodges for a couple months. Rad skiers and boarders on lot. Legal weed. Incredible big mtn lines all around. Any NSers go this year? Who's going next year?
