Where do YOU Tour?

I am currently living in MN, and planning to move out west so I can ski the backcountry. I was wondering, NS, where do you ski, and where do you think is the best place to ski some pow?

I live in kelowna (BC) and have just done a ton of slack country but I'm super stoked to have a rogers pass trip planned in the next few weeks!

If it is POW I ski in the resort, or very close to it. No sense in limiting myself to a 3000-5000ft day when I can ski 50,000ft of pow.

I tour in the Olympics and Cascades of WA because I get a season that generally goes from November through July. I tour significantly less when the resorts are open, but still stretch the legs 3-5 times a month.

I grew up exploring the Olympics in the winter with a snowboard and snowshoes. Although I just finished my touring setup, so I actually went on my first "tour" yesterday up around Mt. Rainier. I'm hoping to get quite a lot more in this spring.

Summit County, Co its the opposite of the Wasatch in Utah, everyones at the resorts here, no one in the bc

Red Mountain and Whitewater sidecountry mostly. Also around the Rossland Range, Kootenay Pass, and hoping to get some more Rogers Pass action soon.

How was it? Thought about heading out there a week or so ago but never made it. Ended up at Tamarack and hourglass instead

Everything besides the top half of the couloir was amazing. Top half was the scariest 10 minutes of my life haha, lower half was perfect corn

You're gonna be hooked now haha. Welcome to the BC!

How was tamarack lookin when you went out there? I'm hoping to hike up there this weekend if the weather isnt too shitty

It was actually really nice. Solid corn snow. Not sure what it's looking like now but I would assume it's still very good since it hasn't been that warm recently

Generally, I tend do only do sidecountry access shit because I'm not currently confident enough getting that deep into the BC... but most of the stable zones in the 89 corridor are places I've done some fun touring on.

I'll be doing plenty of Tours this autumn down in Canturbury and on the slopes of Ruapehu though... October and November are going to be mah bitch.

I've been skiing in the Adirondacks for the last 4 years and I've spent a week in the Chic Chocs twice. This winter I'm moving to Mammoth, so goodbye trees and hello coolers!

I am lurking around in euroland. I m mainly touring the north eastern alps with some trips to Albania, Kosovo and Slowakia. I prefer the more quiet areas of the Alps and Balkan :) Someone else touring in this area?
