i talked to a employee at a ski shop and he said simon dumont mounts his skis -4cm away from the center. giving him more support when he lands switch. he said hitting rails is also good because he could get more velocity spinning off the rail with -4 cm back mount.

I find -8cm from center gives me the most velocity spinning off rails

I mount mine on the top.. I find I have a hard time picking up speed if I mount them on the bottom.
