What do you mean high quality? Most anyone can teach you something you never knew and everyone tries their best for the most part. The best people I've met have been from jobs or school, where there was no option but to share struggle and experience with people for long periods of time. I know it's hard in life to find good people but if you're constantly on the search perhaps the problem stems from you, not necessarily other people.

Oh look, another woman who only focuses on good looks and is upset when they don't have a high quality personality.

They will find you in time, so stop looking. Just be who you are, and let time take its course.

I like these suggestions!!

high quality meaning, they care about something that actually matters and they’re willing to do something about it, they are able to have a deep conversation, they’re respectful and kind…. Like not even for the dating scene friends like that are hard to find too!

Last Spring, I was with my sis and [tag=255817]@CLQ[/tag] hanging out at Powderhorn. He left to study for his final exam, and then her and I linked up with some local park kids to take laps: a couple of real nice snowboarder dudes.

We had a wonderful fun afternoon, and after the lifts stopped, they were giving us some restaurant recommendations.

In the middle of it, one dude paused and was solemnly like, "If I can leave you with ladies with one piece of advice before you leave Grand Junction, 'Stay away from the mountain bike guys in town.'" The other dude agreed like, "Yeah they are the WORST!"

He repeated that a few times, very seriously, emphasizing that they thought they were the shittiest people on Earth for women to interact with, or God forbid, date.

I asked him to elaborate, but he was all, "Just trust me, man... they're out to ruin women's lives."

[tag=260955]@AbiH[/tag] , that just kinda stuck with me. I'll forever be highly suspicious of Grand Junction mountain bike guys, and you should be too.

Must avoid Grand Junction mountain bike guys at all costs ??

So! As a Quality Control test for the Montana bike guys, you can ask if they've spent any time as a Grand Junction mountain bike guy... apparantly it ruins them.

Edit: I should add that he did say that not all mountain bike guys are bad, just the ones from Grand Junction.

What do you mean by high quality? Everybody has a shitty, annoying side to them. It depends on what you can tolerate and accept.

i find them in the backcountry, the chair lift, hitch hiking, but I found awesome people to befriend on the biking trails, climbing spots, hiking trails… Never found anyone good at the bar and gathering events. People there are like NPCs, no ambition, no personality and all talk.

Real answer: volunteer abroad

join the Peace Corp

i volunteered throughout Africa for a year and a half and my moral pedigree is above 99 percent of anyone u will meet

I am basically a better person in more ways than one than almost anyone else

risking ur life volunteering for free living in shitholes and eating a bowl rice and beans everyday will really raise ur moral and ethical pedigree and overall make u a better person. More insightful, holistic, worldly, well rounded, understanding, empathetic, etc

Yeah unfortunately its true. The local university has one of, if not, the best mountain biking/cycling teams in the US. So there are a bunch of rich, privileged college students who know they are a better than everyone else. So the riding scene is chock-full of ego and elitism. Hands down the worst community I have been apart of. It's basically like having a bunch of Fagans everywhere.

Do you think the evolution of mountain bike guys is

Grand Junction -> Montana

Or

Montana -> Grand Junction

?

Aww I didn't know you were once a Grand Junction mountain bike guy! Didn't mean to knock on ya. ? You and your wonderful gf have a great dynamic.

I guess not all of them are bad [tag=260955]@AbiH[/tag] !

Montana feels like the logical step in the evolution, its bottom of the barrel down here. And you're good, I totally agree with that statement, except for me and my friends of course haha.

Here is a fun story, one of the most prominent and best riders in the valley went around drunkly destroying peoples bikes in CB when he was 18/19. Kicking wheels until they were destroyed, so badly you couldn't ride it, shit like that. Of course thats just a rumor :)

[tag=260955]@AbiH[/tag] Just talk to people who ride and if they seem chill, be there friend. Then meet there friends, they will generally be chill too.

You’re really closing off your options if you’re only looking within the ski/bike community and so you may just settle for the least-shitty. Branch out and you may find someone who skis and bikes but has other things going on in life and aren’t just defined by skiing or biking. But sometimes it’s good to have things that are just for you. I really miss skiing with my wife but at this point maybe one of the best things i have going for me is being able to get away and just ski with the boys.

And idk if it’s just me growing up, or… but the guys in ski towns actually seem to de-evolve over time. I get hating tourists and wanting to make it uncomfortable as possible for non-locals, but it seems like i watch friends do this so much that they actually just become an adolescent again and only stray further from growing up. My friend is married to a girl who’s very successful, mature, god fearing, but all i can think is “jesus man, pull it together or this girl is gonna divorce you when she hits that moment of clarity”??

It’s hard because skiing biking and EMS are the only things I do:( but I needa start volunteering somewhere or something… I kinda agree it seems like people just get stuck

As long as you don’t do meth hit me up when ya in Montana

I hear ya OP, I'm in the same spot. Love my skier and outdoors friends, but we're pretty different in our personal lives/day-to-day/long-term goals. I've been trying to make myself into a bit more of a well rounded person vs. just a skier skier in hopes of attracting someone doing the same, well see!

Yeah, the church is a great place to look if you're aiming to get a man that will subjugate you into a life of making sandwiches and fetuses.
