I'm going to Europe for the winter and just want to ski everyday but I have no idea where to go. I want to go to a place that is affordable. I don't care about parks too much I just want somewhere where it snows a ton and is steep. Got any ideas? Thanks a lot!

i reely wanna go to chamonix france when i get out of school its always kinda been a dream of mine to ski there its soo very beautiful.

Try morzine in Portes Du Soleil, i was there last season and there are 14 resorts on your lift pass, so something for everyone. And the lift pass is one of the cheapest around

steep? parks dont matter that much? perfect in ischgl, but this town is miles away from being "affordable". but you can live in another town.

nothing against chamonix tho

"for reals is everyone in here kidding?? OK first of all if you dont know what chads gap is thats kinda lame. Secondly They have been hitting chads gap for some time now. Im surprised now one has seen the cllip of candide thovex sticking a D spin over chads gap. Its kinda been around alot and been in a few articles." - TravisMC in a thread where everyone made fun of the creator who asked if chads had been hit with skis. thx alot

France will be the cheapest place for you to go. My friends and i go on holiday to Europe every year and it always works out the cheapest. Best freeriding places are resorts called Serre Chevalier, which is pretty quiet compared to the rest and Chamonix which is more main stream. Tignes has also got some good riding.

chamonix gets tracked out so fast. just get a room in a smaller village in a valley and then drive whereever the snow is the best.

Ok, real powder hounds go to a small resort that is supposed to be unbelievable, called La Grave. Don't tell anyone I mentionned it. The bigger most famous ones are La Clusaz, where Candide skied, Serre Chevallier, Tignes, Les 2 Alpes, and Les 3 Vallees(Meribel, etc...)

Gravity sucks

do you want to stay in one place for the whole stay?

There's been some good suggestions, I would say St. Anton in the Arlberg region is one of the best places in Europe for freeriding. Lots of international crowd (specially aussis qiwis) you can hang out and ski with. If you want to do it cheap find a place to live not in Anton itself but a town close by like St. Jakob or Flirsch. There's even a caravan park in Flirsch if you're tough enough.

good site for accomodation and skiing in europe.

BTW, Switzerland is the most expensive, someone said France is the cheapest - def not true. Austria is cheaper that France. the Arlberg region is one of the most expensive in Austria though (together with Ischgl and Sölden) because they are the best.

i've been twice to la grave, both times around eastern. on the glacier at the top the snow was perfect, powder and easy accessible steep terrain. in the middle the mountain looked more like a mogul run and at the bottom you skied on more grass than snow. still one of the best mountains i've been to. you just should try to get there earlier in the season. and if you can be there for the derby de la meije. its a race from top to bottom without a given line. it's just a big party with crazy french live bands and ski bums.

Go to mayerhofen

nice to freeride

real cheap is lenggries in bavaria but there u can only go if threre is about 1.5 m snow

fellhorn

arlberg

Serre Chevallier..... Unbelievable and a lot quieter than the better known resort. Look in every guide and they'll say this place is amazing!

St Anton in Austria is renowned for having some pretty good powder skiing which doesn't get tracked out too quickly. Although its known to be an expensive resort it supposed to be a lot cheaper than where I was the last 2 seasons- Val D'Isere, France so going to France is definitely not a sure bet of a cheap place!

I wouldn't go to Meribel- the standard of skiing (from what I've heard is pretty dismal). I'm going to Morzine, France this winter, which is part of the Portes Du Soleil area which is HUGE. Think its not too expensive too...
