Where do pros mount park skis?

I've been mounting my park skis true center for years now. Do any pros mount their's forward of true center? I just got some new sticks and was thinking about mounting them a few centimeters forward of true center to improve switch performance and make blunts easier to get on big spins where i'm focusing more on the rotation. Does any one suggest this?

+k for good responses

haha, no... Dead center is the way to go. going forward of that would make things interesting to say the least. i've done it on accident once, i guess skiing switch is easier, but it's not practical.

they do it themselves. All you need is a drill, hammer and punch and a pair of new boards. Place your binding where you want mark them with a hammer and punch. Then remove binding and drill. Screw in the binding and youll look better than Tom Wallish himself.

these troll threads are getting out of hand

You know what works the best is just mounting your skis backwards for the bestest switch performance....k I'm trolling, yes.

^ ^^

Funny guys...

I know It's a long shot but It would be awesome if some pro's posted in here.

These damn kid's with the pleasure they get out of trolling and being sarcastic...

Interesting idea, but pros do not do this and I would not recommend it as you're skis are not designed to be rode that far forward. If you still want to do it, mount an old pair 2 centimeters forward to try it before you do it on new skis.

Exactly. Seriously though has anyone noticed that if you center mount a ski that has more rocket in the tip than the tail (ex. All terrain rocker on K2's), the result is MORE running length in the tail than the tip? That's just stupid! Pay attention to the rocker you have before center mounting. The recommended mounting point on some skis is often pushed back a few cm's from true center in order to reduce this effect, if I'm not mistaken. My Moment Rockers had this problem being symmetrical, yet with longer tip rocker, and on a center mount they skied like SHIT outside of the park.

Most of the AR Cast (Armada Park Team) ride 2.5 cm BACK from true center... thats the recommended mount for all of their park skis though.

They mount their bindings right before their front tips, that's why they're so good at tail grabs and riding switch

actually there was a for real article in freeskier once where dumont said he mounted his skis a little forward.

I for one have been mounting my skis 1.5cm from true center for about 4 seasons and have had nothing but solid experiences.

i dunno if he does it anymore, but charley ager used to mount his hellbents way the fuck forward (2-3cm i think), hence his insane switch skills in pow
from personal experience though, you're gonna want equal tip and tail, with center being at the mid-sole of your boot... the problem i've had is that i'm still unclear if the proper terminology is "true center," "core center," or "measured center," and that was exactly the problem i had w/ my shop tech, who ended up mounting my most recent skis nearly 3cm forward... i ride anthems (a symmetrical ski), so at first i was like "fuck it, im gonna re-mount them at the end of the day"... 3rd run in, just starting to feel comfortable, roll-in switch to a super easy box feature, catch my tail, lam my brand-new skis, bust the back of my head wide open on a fucking flatbox, and bleed like a murder-scene all the way into the clinic...
moral of the story: don't mount forward unless all you're planning on doing is hitting and landing jumps switch, because it WILL fuck up your balance/technique on jibs

I skied centered moment rockers last year and they slayed for spring skiing. I think you just need to get out of the park more.

Who cares? if your good at skiing you will adjust to the skis. I prefer a few cm infront of center (my k2 press, the center line isnt at true center anyway). This reminds me of all the tourists who i ride the chair up with who talk about what they like and dont like about every ski theyve ridden. Who gives a fuck a real skier will throw down on skis mounted 4cm back or 4cm forward. Its like worrying about if your skis match your bindings, poles, helmets, jacket pants and your hoodie. enough of these trolll threads.

When you mount a ski at true center it puts your weight in front of true center. When you mount a few centimeters back it puts your weight right over true center.

Dude don't mean to be rash, but dude who cares? only you can tell what boot fits best, why go off of someone else's mount?

so because the heel piece is normally a little longer than the toe piece, does this mean mounting the midsole a little in front core center so that the distance from the binding to the tip on each side is equal? or do you mean just midsole at core center?
