Get yourself a bogen/manfrotto tripod.

They're so good.

Preferably one with a ball head, not the pan or multi-tilt head.

It's best for taking photos since you get the full 360 degrees of motion out of it, and the plate that screws onto you camera clips on and off so you can take the camera off the tripod while you're framing the shot.

where do you live. i went to ritz camera, and bought a ok tripod for my canon eos reval k2, for $20! it is 5 feet tall and weights about 2 pounds with a quick release. i love it. if you live in the middle of no-where, order one online. if not go to a camera place and buy a cheap one.

there is a 52 inch one. if look online, go to froggle.com, search tripod (and the kind of tripod. company or full half or table top) sort by lowest price to highest, and there you go. i have an extra tripod, im willing to sell it for $20 (american) + shipping.
