Where are you skiing in 08/09?

idk whether to get a big sky pass, a lone peak pass, or a bridger pass. ugh this debate is killing me

 
Bridger. I've totally had it with Big Sky, I'm not paying $80 to go rip up my skis on their shale. Not to mention the backcountry around Bridger is awesome.
 
should be skiing both sides of lone peak, with the usual trips to bridger, targhee, maybe jackson. id like to get up to big mountain, too. maybe lookout?
 
Showdown season pass and most likely I will be at Bridger, Big Sky, Great Divide, and Jackson Hole throughout the season.
 
Showdown season pass but i will be skiing big sky, great divide, and bridger prolly a few times... and i take a trip every year to Snowbird and Alta..
 
well because i moved to missoula i will skiing at lost trail...and on winter break i will be at great divide
 
Are you going to be in the dorms? Do you have avalanche equipment? Are you Bridger's Junior age or its Adult Age?

There's no shuttle to Bridger, there's one to Big Sky and moonlight.

Bridger is only like 350 or something if you're 18 or under.

The ridge is sick but avalanche gear is an additional cost.

You'll be happy with either a Bridger Pass or a Big Sky pass.

Personally, I'd say if you can afford the Lone Peak just get a Big Sky and a Bridger!
 
To add to what Dolawibeast said, if your into park go to Big SKy or Moonlight, if you dont care so much about park but like gnarly, super gun skiing go to Bridger assuming you will have a vehicle to get there.
 
which is why im thinking big sky, with the occasional trip to bridger... except then i need avvy gear/classes
 
There is still TONS of sick terrain at Bridger without hiking the ridge. For example high traverse. Plus if you plan on being in the west for a while avalance knowledge can be extremely beneficial.
 
To the best of my knowledge you only need it to hike the ridge and leave the area boundaries. Someone on here like Aenigma could verify this for sure though.
 
hmmm. why must this be so difficult i wish i just had like 1500 bucks laying around and i could afford both passes plus pow skis....

But seriously, if anyone wants them they're going up for sale as soon as I'm permenantly living somewhere. Drilled once for Naxos, probably 15 days of backcountry on them, no resort skiing.
 
FWIW I'll definitely be heading to lost trail again this year. What an awesome area. Other than that Bridger.

Note: Many kids who come to MSU get Bridger passes and end up being super bummed wishing they'd gotten bs or moonlight. Something to consider, especially since it'll make liftlines shorter.

Does anyone know if the Slushman's lift is up yet?
 
As of a few weeks ago they had the upper and lower ends dug out, but that's all I know.

And if somebody really gets bored at Bridger that's their fault. It's not like the terrain is boring, you just have to work to get to all the good stuff. At Big Sky you get to ride lifts everywhere, but there's also rocks in every 4th turn and the snow is windblown 75% of the time. But I suppose they do have a way better terrain park--why you would do that out here is beyond me, but if it's important to you....

I guess I don't really understand getting bored at Bridger either, but I hear tons of bitching about it on campus.
 
im going to be working big sky full time. but i will be at showdown a bunch. maybe great devide and i want to make a trip to baker/stevens this winter as well
 
it's because people are bitches, and they just ski south bowl all year, and then get bored of it.

that being said, I am still getting a MLB pass this year for more options. I figure MLB on weekends, and days I get out of school at 10, and bridger on the other days or epic dump days
 
anyone know if you get any sorta discount on an MLB ticket if you have a Big sky season pass
 
The complaints I've heard most are the long lift lines, slow lifts, double chairs, short runs, huge moguls on non-snowy days and fairly expensive pass prices for the acreage.
 
well if you have a big sky pass you can upgrade to a lone peak for about 350 and i think that saves you about 100 dollars, but as far as individual tickets for MLB, there's no savings as far as i know.
 
exactly. if you have a big sky pass you'll be happy. i wasn't really a fan of moonlight to be honest. i figured that if i was going to drive that far i might as well go to big sky.
 
the only nice thing is the easy access to the chutes. and their park is fun. but whatever. big sky has a shitload more anyways
 
Just get an AT setup and we'll shralp the backcountry on weekends. I wouldn't mind having a third dependable person in the group.
 
me buying DJ bike and 2 passes means probably no AT set up. fuck.

although I might sell my live lifes, get something else, and just mount them AT then use them as my all around ski.
