I grew up when freeskiing was in its infancy and have been out of touch with it for a couple years due to college and work. Obviously there are a plethora of new pro's but how about the pro's the we old cats grew up with...where are they now?

Skogen Sprang

Evan Raps

Boyd Easley

Andy Wood

Dave Crichton

Schannon Schad

Shane Anderson

Chris Turpin

Nicky Adams

Phil Poirier

feel free to add a pro...

skogen was in show & prove, boyd easley does more behind the scenes stuff with armada (i think), and philou is a judge for events like JOI. i don't know about the other guys though

Turpin kills it for rill

he's just gone into the shadows, he should come back.

He was in x qualifier rounds for slope if i remember right.

Chrichton (sp) has chrons' disease (once again sp) if I remember right, and can't really ski anymore.

Are you serious????? Thats so sad man. That big ally-oop flatspin in Stereotype still graces my dreams nightly

in Europe, (switzerland I think) skiing and rapping, being a g.

I heard he's not allowed to come to the US for a while. Stabbed someone or something.

That's all the replies? Wow, I'm really bothered by this...its means that

a) Newschoolers.com has failed to inform members of freeskiing history

b) skiing will soon end up like football, where the very people that built the sport are neglected and forgotten about with respect to healthcare, retirement and recognition.

I wish that Newschoolers.com would have a complete section dedicated to the history of our sport. I'd like to see a section about the godfathers of our sport and there contributions. Background on the first models of twins and there importance, and lastly it would be great if they discussed the impact of certain media outlets such as Freeze, classic ski movies and competitions.

polier was at alta last season i heard. chrichton has some disease and he cant rip it hard any more. but most on the list are also still ripping.

Phil Larose has the Liberty Pro Model, and Belanger is on the team too last i checked. Dion manages the Dynastar team, or works with Dynastar somehow.

Spong still skis

I had a Spong sighting a month ago, it still lives.

Larose is doing Plehouse, Dion has stopped doing crazy shit and is chilling in Quebec prolly, Belanger is still coaching and all I think.

what's happenin with mike wilson. i was watchin some video of him on the first generation 1080 ski and started wondering about him.

i believe he made to the finals, placed around7th or 8th i believe. kid is steezy as hell, could watch his segment in wicked on repeat for days.

I was just thinking about this last night. Where do you think Tanner Hall will be in 20 years? Jon Olsson? Dumont? Schiller? Morrison? Will they still be killing it? Shredding the gnar? Or will they fall back like the late pros and do more with freeskiing companies, like designing new products? Will they have made enough money to never work again and have their own private islands?

mik d is still killin it doesnt really compete anymore cause he is to thug and to much about style over spinning or doing double flips. i believe he is supposed to have a segment in something next year. as far as not being allowed in the US i am not to sure on that i do know right around summer his girl friend got shot in the stomach or some shit and she was pregnant.

for real dude....supposedly...someone beat up his girlfriend, so he came back and kicked their ass....real good.

i really hope he gets another vid segement soon
