You might be one of the best skiers in the world bit sometimes its out of your control .. http://powdermag.com/features/news/cr-injury/

I lost a friend because he wasnt wearing a helmet and i still fucking cry about it when im at my hill, IM 20 and i fucking cry ... laugh all you want but this shit didnt have to happen. Easly solved or atleast help with less of an injury.

not to be a dick but that was kind of a freak accident. sounds like "collided with" really means "landed on." But I wear a helmet, so as long as I smack my head going slower than 30mph, i'll be ok.

I always wear a helment, always. Without mine im sure the past 4 concussions would have been much worse.

thats really surprising to hear something like this happen with pros but i guess this just shows you they are just like us and you have to be on top of things when you are out in the mountains. I hope CR has a quick and safe recovery.

Right back at you, ass pounder.

Screw the fact that the helmets will be multi season and the same price as the single season equipment out there. WTF was I thinking posting a link, Jesus!!!

Do me a favor, take your helmet off and ski very fast through the woods.

Better yet, just run head first into a hard surface. I don't have time to deal with people like you.

Just visit the website and realize that you could pay for a helmet that would last you for the whole year instead of rocking 2-3 helmets for the crap that you do.

fuck helmets, sorry about your friend and it sucks about cr but unless im going to go drop some big cliffs i think ill stick with my beanie

WHERE A FUCKIN HELMET? ILL TELL YOU WHERE A FUCKIN HELMET IS!

but i think you meant wear.

omg.

Ok, from now on, FUCK Bern helmets. Noone buy. This kid (calskierX) comes on here to remind us all of wearing helmets at all times, to prevent injuries and maybe even death (as in the case with his friend). Bern helmets spokesperson comes on here an tells him to die. Great advertisement.

word

I always wear a helmet and I would strongly recommend everyone else to do the same. sorry to hear about you friend man.

It honestly doesn't sound like a helmet would have made much of a difference. Most helmets dont actually offer you that much protection....

nonetheless...I always wear a helmet and dont see any reason not too.

either way, really sad and preventable situation. Know your landings. Hopefully CR comes thru without permenant damage.

kye peterson landed on him in the bc now he has severe head trama...i didnt use to wear a helmet but now i do after a fall i had last year...mmmm knocked out teeth and messed up face and a concussion on a rail...mmmmm...but im really sorry about your friend....

I always wear a helmet, I cant ski without a helmet. I just feel like unsafe. And my mountain has a rule that helmets are mandatory in the park and pipe.

helmets are very good indeed and i swear if i never had worn a helmet i probAbly wouldn't have been able to type this

im having trouble visualizing this situation.

If your hitting a jump in the park, and don't see the rider ride away after why would you hit the jump? Clearly that person is still there.

Also if you know someone is droping right after you, why would you walk around and pick up your stuff?

Im not trying to lay blame, but i think this a good situation to show how important good communication is, espically in a backcountry setting. Be clear as to what your going to do. Espically if your filming, i mean someone caught this on camera? and had no way to tell kye not to go?

It's not that hard to carry a small 2 way radio, it's no bigger then a ipod, and not that expensive. And this could easily increased good communication, and may have prevented the problem.

You might find they are handy for a bunch of things, not just warning people, and are super handy while filming and setting up shots.

I hope CR recovers fast, and doesn't come out with any perment damage, tragic accident. Mistakes DO happen.

Lastly, wearing a helmet is a good idea, espically since there are a ton of models out there that actully look good, are comfortable, and come with ear phones. Oh and reasonbly priced. (I don't think i have ever heard a parent say no into buying there child something that could save there lives)

But it is a personal choice, i know lots of people that are just dead against helmets, and don't like them. I wear mine everytime i ski, and when i ride with people that i really care about, i mention it everytime we ride, cause im a stickler.

Yeah I definitely wear mine. I can heal any other part of my body but take a serious blow to the head and you very likely will not be quite the same person afterwards. I dont think enough people understand that.

this is not improper placement at all..maybe some kids dont wear helmets because they think there "gay" but this kid just showed us some sick helmets that kids might buy that used to never wear helmets and could possibly save some lifes..so fuck any1 that said it was unesessary

i was going to be all about not wearing one this year...but like after the 1st day out...i didnt really want to charge without a bucket...so whenever i ride now i always have that bad boy starpped on...its insurance on your nogin...why wouldnt you wear one??

i definitely agree. along with agreeing that helmets are good, he also presented everyone with an option if you don't like the racer style ones or Giro or RED helmets don't interest you. just helping your cause, don't you think?

i almost always wear a helmet, if i dont i dont freak out, sometimesa i just wanna wear a hat, i just dont try as hard of stuff, and im more carefull without one. but id say 95% of the time ill wear a helmet, your a fucking retard if you say helmets are bad.

a friend of mine's life was saved by a helmet, still had rehab for 6 months, but that beats dead...sry about ur friend

i know i should always wear a helmet, but when im just skiing i like to wear a beanie...

calskierx, i hope your friend finds peace up there, and i hope cr get better right quick.

it's always a shame to see pros who think they're too good for their own safety. never made sense to me why pros of all people don't wear helmets....especially if you're sponsored by a company that makes them...hopefully he'll be ok

i hear what your saying. second day sunshine opened a boarder not wearing a helmer hit a rock and died instantly, blood everywhere, not pretty. i always wear my helmet even if i dont do insane shit cuz you sometimes cant control what happens. a little wind and your fucked sometimes. sorry about your friend!

i totaly aggre with wearing a helmet and sorry to hear about your frend. While on the helmet topic i just got some wisdom goggles and does anyone know of a good helmet that fits well with them? cuz my helmet i have now doesnt fit well with them and i mean good fit by no gap bettween the helmet and gogles and such.
