wen u started to grab with your spins....how big of a jump did you use...cuz it seems that i dont have enough time to get in the grab/cross...any advice or help would be great

yea i have the same problem, it seems like whenever I go for a grab im already practicly landing the jump before i can even grab, same goes for my iron crosses.

Just get comfortable with spins off everything, even the little bumps on the side of a run to the biggest hit in the park and you'll slowly get more and more tucked until you've got the grab

Whenever i go for a grab it's not the amount of time thats the problem, I always seem to get thrown off balance, tips?

I had a big problem with this and just decided to rectify it one day last season.

Go to your park toss 3/5/7 or whatever like you normally do but instead of trying to grab just tuck your feet up all the way in the air. Do that for a couple of runs untill it feels natural. Then do a couple runs when you tuck your feet up and put your hand straight down, don't worry about grabbing it just put your hand there. You do this a couple of times and I garuntee you will be grabbing saftey's by the end of the day. It worked like a charm for me.

I used to try to grab and bring my hand down to my skis but it would always throw me off balance and sketch out my spin, bring your skis to your hand and not the other way around. Take those small steps to it and I'm sure you will get it. Now it feels akward to me if I don't grab in a spin.

Also a really good place to practice new grabs is on your park lift. thats how I learned to grab mute. Put the bar down and practice grabs like mute and get so comfortable with the feeling you don't need to look at your skis because we all know looking down when you are in a spin corks you out and you will land backseat.

Good luck sucka

uh? just place your hands where you want them, its not harder! but if your not comfortable spinning then its something difrent...

well he's obviously having trouble if he had to make a post about it, thats how I overcame my mental block for grabbing so I thought I would share,

Sorry maybe I should have tried to be as helpful as you were, jerkoff

i dunno, i think that the bigger the jump, the easier it is to grab. but i started on like a 15 footer

your first grab should be either a truck driver or a cruton, and should be done with a stich cork 5 over a 50 foot step up

does it help to try them on the tramp, i no its a different feeling but like spinning with them for like balance adn stuff. does it help at all of a waste of my time
