the question is, what will be after ipods/mp3 players? When will they go "out"?

I'm not sure that I really get the new ipod commercials...are they just advertising new shades of orange and pink ipods?

apple and it's stupid colors.

when the record companies create brain antennas that broadcast the sons and daughters of Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers straight to your temporal lobe, complete with corporate subliminal advertising and will control.

made me think of lupe

Ipod touch like devices im guessing. I mean, its got everything, videos, music, applications, internet. A mini extension of a computer, which in this generation, is something people cant live with out.

New nano is different but looks like the zune.

Mp3s are just going to see more integration like someone said above and probably get smaller/more gigs. And they will probably also start to look different instead of clones of each other.

Its kind of like the car to me. 100 years ago or whenever everyone had model ts and those have evolved in different directions but all the new vehicles are still cars or trucks using the same roads.

I hope they come out with screens and shit that are made out of nothing but light and are beamed out of ipods like in star wars.

I'm guessing when we get to the point where we have a database in our bodies that allows us to play music in our heads without other people hearing it. Thats my dream.

We were discussing this the other day in our group of friends. I think we have reached almost the end of the technological road here. I guess you could put mp3 players in your body or whatever, but if you think of it now we have hit a point where there is no actual physical medium of music.

records and 8 tracks got outdated, then tapes, then cd's, now our music is not actually even distributed on hard copy. Well plenty of people still use cd's but in the end they will go out too. We have moved onto stored media files that can be transferred between players. How many years before artists don't even put out cd's anymore is a good question. We'll all just be downloading albums or songs and carrying our whole music library on our players, can't wait to look back and laugh at when we used to have to carry our music around on it's own piece of plastic.

all electronics are going to get smaller and more integrated. until people are cyborgs.

seriously.

when they make something where you can think of a song in your head and play it. After you are charged .99 to your credit card

Well they really can't get any smaller without being too small for the hands to use well. They will just be able to do more shit at a lower cost and someday who knows...

Yeah in my multimedia studies class my professor was telling us about all these crazy cyborg theories and shit. Plus some dude thinks that if you can live to the year 2040, you might be able to live forever due to the advancement of technology.

Not saying I believe all of it as in the approximate time period in which it will happen, but I'm sure in due time everyone will be cyborg with the potential of living forever.

people living forever would be the worst thing to ever happen. Seriously its like rolling AIDS, cancer, and posion ivey into one big disease of suck

Computers, Phones, and mp3 players will be mashed into one portable device. Where internet reception is fast and "cheap" as phone reception. They will make docking systems so that they can integrate into cars and homes, where portability isn't needed and the user can access external storage drives and full-sized motion-sensor keyboards.

Living forever is only good if yo can still ski and you don't become to weak. But then the world is pretty much fucked if that happens.

i remember when i wanted the ipod mini and my mom said it was just a phase and no one will care about ipods in a year

but like 4 years or so there alive and kickin
