The season just ended here in ontario, and I need new gear. Preferably for the summer because im skiing at whistler, but before november at least. When is the best time to buy new gear in terms of price and stock?

From the brief period I worked for a bike/ski shop, I'd say most places want to clear their current stock out for next years stuff which they be getting as soon as Sept. Shop that caters to other sports, like if they do bikes in the warm months. The more winter items they clear out now gives em that space to utilize in the summer. Pretty much now till w/e companies release their new gear is when you can cop deals on the 17/18 or older gear.

Right now. I just bought a whole new set up of this year's gear for around 1300. It's still a shit ton of coin but for skis boots and bindings it's hard 2 beat.

A. You don't need to buy everything new like Joe up there

B. Buy boots first and go to a bootfitter. This is where you want new stuff and be prepped to drop some cash

C. Scope summer/late season deals on skis new or used depending on what you want

D. Binding designs hardly ever change, buy used

E. Poles? Buy some for hella cheap or snag some rentals that are the same legnth from the 'leftovers' bin

I bought Boots, 3 pairs of skis + bindings, skins, 2 pairs of poles, and 30k/20k jacket all for less than 900-1k over this season. I made most of that money back selling older stuff I don't use anymore.
