Yo NSI am on ski 7 days a season but next season im going 3 times, 3 days in december, 7 days in febuary and a 7 day summer camp.. And i am considering to buy myself a pair of ski boots, as i hate rental boots, cus i get shinbang all the time, most of the time the first day and the whole week is ruined! My SHOE size is about 8,5, and i always get about one size bigger for ski boots. The question is im 15 and shoe size is 8,5, would it pay off if i already got ski boots in 1 year or should i wait till my feet is fult grown? My big brother who is 23 has a shoe size of 9-10 soooo?

I was thinking of buying a pair of Full Tilt Hot doggers or Dropkicks!

Thanks yo!

Don't get a pair that you'll grow in to, you'll be just as uncomfortable as you are with rental boots. Get a pair that fit perfect, they'll pack out a little anyways.

I'm 20 and my spk from when I was 15 still fit me

Always go to a bootfitter before you buy your boots and find what boot fits you the best instead of just buying what boot you like the looks good because boots differ greatly in fit. For example full tilts have a narrower fit while spks have a wider fit. It is also best to get fitted in the fall because during the summer your feet will be bigger in size due to the high temperatures than in the winter. There is a sticky of this in gear talk that has more information on what boot to get and in my opinion i would buy new boots rather than using rentals.

Yeah, im either on SPKs or Full tilts! But yeah will prob be fall i would get them, maybe like september because im maybe going on the camp in the fall because i hate slushy snow haha

Keep them answers coming!

If you arent doing any skiing until then i would just wait and go get fitted then, should solve your shinbang problem seeing as you are trying to go off your shoe size....

no, no, no, NO.

SPK's and Full Tilt's are TOTALLY DIFFERENT BOOTS.

You go to a boot fitter and you buy the boot that fits your foot. And that's the boot you get. If they happen to be spk's or a pair of full tilts..then good for you

As I stated above full tilts are skinny and spks are wide and your may feet may not fit correctly in either of them. They are both quality boots but go to bootfitter before making a decision.

also allow some time for the boots to be broken in. when i tried on spk's they were perfect for my feet except a slight pain under the bottom buckle. apparantly alot of people get that so i got a custom footbed[/u] ( do this. VERY IMPORTANT) and got them moulded and it was basically gone, a few days skiing and there the perfect boot for me. if that happens to you if spk's fit dont be completely put off by that.

I would say get some cheaper boots unless youre rich and can get new fulltilts every two years like me i think all my shinbang comes from my boots being a little big so i get a half size smaller.

Depends on how much money you have vs how important it is to have boots that fit you properly. The best boot is the one that is properly fit to you NOW. Not too big now, and in a year it might be correct. So, it depends on how much you can spend now and possibly do it again in a year or two.

With that said, do not go into a shop and ask to try on a Full Tilt or SPK or Anything else. Ask to have the fitter find the best option for your foot. That will lead to a comfortable boot that skis super well, not a cool boot that gives you shin bang
