When should a person get twintips?

What do you think the skill level of someone should be when they get their first twins? I personally think it's when they start doing 5's. My friends little bro can't even 3 and he wants to get some juvy's.

u dont have to earn the right to owna pair of twins.i cant do a 3,ive never tried, but i have been skiing for a long time and wanna get goood at park,so last july i bought some twins.

You don't have to even do anything to use twins... they're just good skis, and skiing switch is damn fun. If someone wanted to buy Chronics and never hit a jump in his life, there'd be no problem with that... why should you care?

twins are good all mountain skis but cost a lot less than some of the branded "all mountain" skis. there is a really good article about something like that in the new skier magazine.

hell yeah, if you are cool you should be on twins. if you are a gaper and plan on staying that way get off them and dont make us look not-cool.

yeah man, anybody can buy twins whenever the fuck they wants!! check "I love skiing backwards" in War... that guy knows what im talkin about

Yeah... They were kind of being assholes and making fun of the guy though. But whatever.

yeah i got twin tips this year and last year was my first year "skiing" i put that in quotes cuz yes ill admit it i started on fag sticks(go ahead and call me names) gay blader, whatever but i cant do anything yet but i ordered twins

Sorry to drag this out again but I would like to point out that panzieman is a bag of douche. Anyone who even considers doing a 180 or doing a little backwards skiing should buy twins.

Everybody should buy twintips. All the time.

When's the last time you saw a non twintipped snowboard? Ya...exactly...

people should be learning on twin tips plus like jay lev said we shouldnt be classifying skis as twin tips any more seeing as the majority of skis have a t least a little twin tip but ya you dont need to be at a certain level to have 2 tips on your skis.

i got twintips after i saw philou doing a mute grab in ski magazine like 5 years ago, and i was like "i want to do that."

that's the dumbest question I've ever heard! twintips are just good skis, regardless of whether you ski switch. Ignorant!

dude if u dont get them u wont be able to learn to do tricks properly because u cant start with 180s and work ur way up

a person schould get tiwns when that person trys to do a one with his regular skis, and smacks his back on the ground cause his tips dag in.

its this sort of mentality that sucks about skiing.

skiing on twintips is not like being a part of an exclusive club. its whatever the little dude wants to buy. how can the kid progress to a 540 without doing the natural 180-360-540 progressing that basically requires a set of twinnies.

thanks for being a dickfor who thinks hes better than people with 'one-tip'

Where you at panzieman? Too much of a panzie to defend your opinion? You are such a panzie.

Thats kind of a fun word... Panzie, panzie panzie

When a person can do a switch 900 and a 270 on an urban kinked rail, they CAN consider twintip skis

i dont do that much park at all, but in my experience, twins have amazing all mtn performance, whether its in the pow, on steeps or in tight trees, and they are incredibly cheap. also, they rip in the bumps, so all in all, i cant really see y the typical skier wouldnt use a twin on the mtn. they have become the most verstatile tool that a skier can possibly buy.

exactly...when i was coming off acl surgery i could do spins so i started to learn to actually ski fakie...its a whole new ball game...im addicitng to just skiing anything i can fakie now...

although rear twisting falls are ACL killers so hopefully i dont wipe out anytime soon and fuck it up again...:S *knock on wood* its been fine so far!

Anyone, Anytime.

My dad likes twin tip skis. He always considers them when choosing his big mountain skis, cause if you get yourself in a tight situation, for example in a chute with knee deep powder, try sliding backwards without digging your tips in.(at 53 it is easyier to move back a bit then jump up and turn the ski 90 degrees)

And there just as good skis construction and performace wise.

and spraying people with rooster tails is fun appartnly.

And the sale of any twin tip ski is good for the industry.

most twin tips are as versitile as skis get, so switch doesnt even have to be a big factor. SBC skier had a damn good article about such matters

I read the skier thing..... It still pisses me off seeing little japanese faggots with nicer skis than me.......

You get owned in your own thread and come back with a "I hate Japenese faggots" cause they have nicer skis. Good one Panzie.

I don't give a shit who has nicer skis than me. The more high-end equipment purchased the better. Then there is money for r&d to make the gear better.

Just go ski the Powderhorn you panzie

who cares what skill level they are...of course i skied 2 none twins and learnd tricks on those before i got my first pair...but my little cousin just started skiing last year we got him some k2 juvys for christmas he was so excited becuase they were the same brand as mine

im assuming FTW is actually WTF.

cause Fuck The What, does'n;t treally make any sence,

And it's when the snow flys off your back tip of the ski, and "spits" a line of snow in the air.

I guess that's the best way i can describe it.

best is end of season if you want cheaper. if the cost doesn't matter and you want something brand new, go for beginning of season.

yeah heav you guys ever noticed that they dont make bad twin tip skis like theyre all really high quality skis they may not be good compared to the other twin tips but they make a damn good cruser ski

bullshit if you want twins you can go buy them. i think that you should learn on twins and who cares if you can do a 3 or not it doesnt matter.

twintips can still carve through crud or ride through powder... i think every ski should have a turned up tail. cause you can do more on them... riiigt ?
