When is ricing ricing?

When is ricing a car ricing...? Is it as soon as you lay a finger to change the stock setup of a car? Or is it when you add that monstrously shitty metal wing onto a Civic (heh, front wheel drive and a rear wing...)

Personally, I'm taking my 1993 Nissan NX and changing rear drum brakes to disks off of a Sentra I found in the junk yard, lowering it an inch and a quarter for stiffer handlnig, reducing weight by removing the rear seats and other unnessential parts, better shocks, and basic cosmetic things like whiter halogen lights in the front, a fresh coat of paint/clearcoat, and interior design shit like putting in the leather seats from a Miata, and detailing the dash slightly with the color of the car, (along with electronic mods, like blue and white LED's for accent ligthing on all the instruments). After all that, I'm possibly doing an engine swap with another 1.6 liter from a sentra (same engine) but completely rebuilt with preformance/lighter weight shit. I mean, is that ricing? Considering I'm paying more attention to performance details rather than shit that amkes the car look gaudy. I don't plan on adding a huge body kit more than some small sideskirts, nor do I plan to have chrome rims.. (Lightweight Aluminum baby...) and I sure as hell refuse to put stickers or stupid designs, or *gasp* SPOILERS on it.

Has anyone else done similar projects where they make their car preform, and make it look good and SIMPLE...?

Also, what cars do you guys have anyways? Pics posted would be rad, I'll have some up soon.

Actaully your car sounds pretty good as long as you dont sport those gay LED's especially the ones on the window washer squirters, also dont put any stupid stickers on it or a huge aluminum wing, or a gay looking body kit. Also corny looking racing stripes.

Mostly the rice stuff that pisses me off is false advertised stuff, and making it look fast if its still stock or close to is (intake and exaust). A prime example is in the Mischief movie when they goto a car show and a dude has a new mustang with Nissan Skyline GT-R badges, and then when they ask him about it he bullshits that its a rare turbo mustang GT-R from japan, i mean wtf common people

For a cheap way to add a blower to your car, put a shop vac on the hood, hook the hose up to your engine, and turn the vacuum on BLOW.

Racing cars on the street is kind of gay, but going to the track on weekends and dragging similar cars is fun, or just running laps and getting times and shit...

And 'not directly related to the performance of the car' what about things to clean up the look, like shaving off emblems and handles and antenna, and stuff to improve the look and comfort of the interior, as long as its not taken to far.

I have a decent system as it is, 2 6x9's in the read and 2 5x7's in the front... no sub yet as I don't listen to much rap so it doens't really enhance my music as much.. the 6x9's put out plenty of bass...

Nissans are the shit, 4th gen Maxima's are badass, you can make those fast as hell, my friend did and its not even rice a sweet as sleeper, also nissan has the new 350z and you cant get skylines in america cause they dont past emmisions.

yeah, they are badass, there are a few in my town and 3 mazda rx7's those things are so badass, 2 of them are new and one is like a 1982 and the kid who ones it put a 458 big block or something in it and tuned it up and it runs under 10 seconds in the quarter mile

Rx7's are sick... a friend of mine has a 91 Miata, and hes throwing a completely rebuilt 6 cyl engine from an MX3 into it.

that will be sick. Yeah i'm into cars, i own a 4th gen celica which is pretty slow, I was thinking about doing an engine swap on it though to a 190 hp 3s-gte turbo toyota engine if i can find a good one.

My other more likely option is to find a 4th gen celica alltrac and buy that cuase it looks good has a turbo and is allwheel drive which is badass. I would rebuild its engine which is the 3sgte and then upgrade the turbo with a mkiv supra turbo and then put a front mounted intercooler, and then suspension exaust custom intake and all that.

as prolly the biggest car guru on this site.... and no im not bragging so dont start cutting me up after this post, just stating my love for the beasts.... i will tell you what ricing is.... ricing ie a rice burner, is a car that has an exaust an intake and maybe a header slapped on it, maybe not even, and then the body is completely done up, wings, rims, body kits, lights.. everything, or it can be a person that slaps on an exaust, a shitty head unit, and a wing and says his car is a 2nr.... yeah so thats a rice burner.... ill post more then, i like this thread

I'd love to find parts for a 93 NX or Sentra... its the B13 chassis I believe.. (either that or B14, I can't remember exactly)
