When is Mr.Bishop going to make an app for NS

I've always pondered why NS can't just make an app for NS, so when I am at school or something I can just open the NS app instead of going online and then going to NS.com. I know it might be hard to make, but if you ask for donations and stuff, all of NS i'm sure, would donate to making an app. Please Doug Bishop, make an app for NS. It would be much appreciated. What are your thoughts on an app for NS

Mind blown. While on the topic of making stuff, lets also make the store open again? Rumor has it, it will open "soon"

Instead of an app I'd like to see a responsive site that is functional.

There are tons of threads on this, but there used to be one but there were issues and the mobile site is fine so they got rid of it

Too busy partying.

Bookmark mobile site (or just never close the tab), it works just fine for now (and will probably get even better soon). An app would literally just be a native link to the mobile site...which is pretty much pointless. There are so many better things that are being worked on that are so much cooler than an app.

But actually everyone wants an app but no one really knows how much work would go into it. I had a really insightful conversation with bishop at taft last year about this and in reality the whole website would have to be redesigned and overhauled to make this possible.

I THINK AN APP WOULD BRING ALOT OF PEOPLE TO NS, NOT EVERYONE HAS A COMPUTER TO SURF NS ALL THE TIME BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS A PHONE

NSAPP LETS GOO!!!!

ive never understood the appeal of apps for everything. fuck i dont even like mobile sites most of the time. the less dumbed down the better.

There is so much that goes into making an app. Besides the copious amounts of coding, javascript and other nerd talk that it entails for a massive high trafficing site like Newschoolers -- the beta testing, surveying, product tests, navigation testing, along with all of the different types of profile designs and necessary web developers that would need to be hired to create a navigable and successful app.. it is an extremely labor intensive and time consuming process. Not to mention the amount of money it would cost to hire those web developers and designers so that the app is semi attractive looking and has minimal glitches.

That's not to say it's not worth it... it would definitely be worth the investment after time. Especially if it has a download cost of like $2 or somethin.

for iPhone,

1. Go onto Safari.

2. Go onto the newschoolers website

3. On the white bar at the bottom (with the back and forward arrows etc) click on the square with the up arrow in it.

4. On the screen, click this button

Funny story...

In 2012 I made an iOS app for watching NS videos. I built it and then shared some screenshots with Mr. Bishop to make sure it was cool, and he was very supportive and rad as always.

So then I submitted the app, and basically the app review team rejected it because it didn't properly stream the videos through the accepted protocol, it only served the videos as a 'raw file'. I have no control over the hosting of the files and this would require a big infrastructure change for NS, so I considered the project done.

Later that year, my car was broken into for a backpack, which contained my laptop (and headphones, and a bottle of wine, and a quarter, lucky thief), and I didn't have the code backed up. So the code is lost forever.

Apple's official response was that because of the video streaming issue, I should just build a mobile website. And NS did that.

Coincidentally, my main focus recently has been onhttp://gnarhub.com, which is also a mobile friendly way to watch NS videos.
