anybody who actually knows about weather (u of u atmosphere science majors?) know why this has been such a dry season and if or when it will change?

i know its a repost and i know i should just be patient but i have a loose knowledge of the atmosphere and i would like to know what is causing such weird weather, not just here but all over america.

Depressing start, for sure... but at least we're not Tahoe. We've gotten an inch here, a couple inches there, etc over the last month. Tahoe literally hasn't seen an inch since Thanksgiving from what I've heard. I'm supposed to go to SnowGlobe out there over New Years but I'm probably gonna cancel since I don't wanna drive 8+ hours to ski groomers and can't justify driving that far just for a concert. Thinking about making the trek to Silverton for a weekend in January if this weather pattern continues to prevail.

well shit. i guess my bran spankin new benchetlers are gonna have to wait

im getting pretty fed up with all of this weather, or lack there of, so I may also be trying to get to silverton or telluride at some point during January when I can get a few days off

So miserable in most of Colorado too right now. Oh well can't do much about it.

god is angry that the beautiful mormon utopia is being over run by heathens from the east coast who trick their parents into thinking they will get an education

...duh

DEATH TO THE INFIDELS!!! THE SNOWGODS MUST RECEIVE A PROPER SACRIFICE
(defiling mormon women has done us no good so far... fuck)

Just got back from a quick trip w/ a day at Targhee and a day at J-Hole... sweet jesus it was refreshing to ski actual pow and not worry about coreshots at every turn. Well worth the drive if you're as desperate as we were. Targhee still has some untouched stashes in certain tree areas if you look around a bit...

a friend of mine is actually organizing a race on the course at PCMR for mid-January as a way to make fun of/laugh at our current conditions.. pow skis only, minimum 115 underfoot. Should be pretty hilarious

Those guys have been on the money since i started following them. Unfortunately, "on the money" this winter just means they've accurately forecasted that we aren't getting shit.

Looks like in the next 10 days the high wont go above 37 (at pc) either so hopefully most of it stays!
