"When I was a noob" Confessions

So after talking to a kid who just began park last season, he told me that he thought he was the biggest noob ever for not having any ski gear and having to wear his high school hoodie. But let's be honest. When I was a noob in 2008, I used to wear 2 pairs of jeans because I didn't have snowpants, and I painted my 20$ smith goggles because I thought it looked cool.

Confess my hittahs.
 
I wore a medium high-school basketball hoodie (I was probably 6 feet tall), bike helmet, and cheap ass goggles.

Also jumped off of lips and told people that I didn't do rails because they would damage my skis. (I was terrified)

I also wore Burton... And skinny Solomon pants.

Oh God why.
 
when i was a noob i casssssed the fuck outta all size jumps on purpose first like 5 or 6 hits cuz i was ascared to go big. thought it would help me progress. ahahha
 
never had goggles for the first 10 or so years of skiing, didnt have sunglasses or anything either just would rip down chink eyed. i guess some things never change

was not meant to be racist or anything aha, i used to only ski a couple times a year so my parents never bothered buying me goggles. i still prefer riding no gogs if its a nice day out

I've done worse. Once, was so hyped to ski i didn't bother to go buy new pair of snow pants so I was going around with pants above my rental boots.

I used to 50-50 boxes when i first started. My friend thinks I'm amazing now because I did a front 2 in front of him, I also did some more tech stuff but that front 2 blew him away, lets say he's still stuck in the stage a little bit

I'm an "old man" and still a Noob! When you are a Noob you can wear what ever you like and it's all good. I started in jeans then I progressed to the "Thrift Shop" and never looked back!

Tried to ski switch (which I then called backwards) on my racing children's dynastar skis, ran into an orange fence and got stuck there for 30 minutes until by random chance my dad came by and helped me untangle myself

the opposite of my thoughts. I think the reason skiing has went downhill sense the 2007-2011 era is the lack of layers.
 
I used to call Saga "Say-ga" because thats how people from Buffalo talk but I quickly learned that that is not the accepted pronunciation.

Tried to use a tree as a quarter pipe that had no way of actually being used like one and just kinda ran into it
 
I also didn't wear goggles. Granted, a lot of my skiing when I was young was afterschool at night on lit slopes so wearing goggles other than clear is rather pointless.

I also cased jumps cause I was scared to go big, straight slid boxes...

I can not frontflip for the life of me
 
I used to wear sunglasses instead of goggles at all times, even when night skiing, because I thought I was cool hahahah

Layers are the flavor of skiing. every person should have at least 3 visible.

i started skiing in middle school and my parents were too cheap to buy me a normal pair of skis so they got my a pair of ski blades. granted i taught myself to ski on those and now they are fun to dick around on but looking back it was bad.
 
My din's were set to the lowest setting, do when ever I hit a jump my ski would pop off. I didn't know what was happening, I had to take my skis to the rental maintenance guy and he fixed them for me.

in 2008 i saw some kids jumping off the lips of rails and thought about doing it because i thought it was cool, but luckily i never did it haha

Yes but it was used non racially, not saying it was right to say but where I come from its used in normal conversation. I'm deeply sorry if I offended anyone, it was just used for the purpose of a joke and if it's a big deal I can get it removed
