When Does Brighton Close

and its looking like it might be a cloudy snowy day which is wierd since we have had sunny nicedays for the past few closing days.

Ya really, its just like Alta there on National Park Land so they have a set closing date.
But will they leave the park features there to hike?

the tubes will be there till the there is nothing but dirt. normally a mailbox or some corrugated will hang around till summer as well. happy hiking.

to kinda follow along with this thread.

in mid may would we get in trouble (EG breaking the law) if we hiked up wherever we wanted and made a little jump and tried to ski 1k of vert or something? (in bounds at Brighton)

i dont believe you would get in trouble since the resort is closed and unless im mistaken it is on BLM land so you can do what you want. Everyone who works at the resort is gone the half pipe is prime to be turned into a variety of booters and jibs/jumps.

i've been told by brighton employees that once the mountain is closed the milly tubes are fair game. the land is owned by the state so you're good.

thanks guys!

what about if we want to take a break and do some hiking and do a little "REAL SKIING ON REAL SNOW"? im not a total JONG having spent 10ish days at Brighton, but got any inside tips on where to hike up for 1kish of vert?

Brighton is probably the hardest place to get continuous vert but if you take the groomer up on a bootpack and take a right at the unoading of crest lift you will see pioneer peak. It's really accessible and should have a boot pack in it. It is backcountry but a pretty stable area. Stay in the trees and you will be fine. However the snow will likely be baked and not very fun to ski. The adventure alone is worth it though. Good luck!
