What's Your Thought on Multiple Cameras for Skiing

Like the title says, whats your thought?

My uncle gave me a "hand me down camera" because he wasnt really into videoing weddings anymore. The camera he gave me waws a Panasonic DVX100b, which is a pretty good camera. I was planning on getting a T3i and i have already ordered it for my birthday. I definitely think the T3i is more practical but i am also excited for the DVX.

i can understand having a GoPro as a second cam but im thinking of both, almost as having a backup camera

whats your thought

I'm probably getting a second camera soon. It's always nice to be able to get more than one angle.

How would you control both the cameras? Just get a friend to be on it, or what?I like using 2 cams to film biking/skating sometimes (my and my friends t2is) but for skiing I'd have to leave it alone on a tripod and it'd get stolen

im talking about using one like a back up camera, to change up the clips because the DVX takes film and isnt digital, if i used the digital camera to take a timelapse and the DVX to record video

I get the backup cam but I don't understand how you'd manage 2 cameras at the same time (unless you're shooting urban or something where you can just leave it there, but filming park it could get stolen/broken really easily, assuming you leave one on a tripod or something alone). Maybe there's something really stupid and obvious that I'm missing

I have my friends film. I've got a camcorder that is pretty easy to use so I can just hand it to someone and have them get another angle.

Larry Burrows agrees with you.
