it is true. i saw an add on cars.com for it and it was listed for 16500, so we went to the car dealership the next day and right before we bought it the guy was like the total wil be 23 thousand somethin, so i was like no your add had it for 16500 and i showed him their add on cars.com and they had to sell it for that price!

i guess they mixed it up with an a4 that was selling for that price.

so i got an s4 for 16500 dollars.

glad to see someone else here knows what their talking about. that kid with the H22 has no idea. my friend has a 94 prelude with a JDM H22A swap, with a full Skunk 2 N/A buildup... which we did ourselves. haha, and he doesn't trust me that i know what i'm talking about.

sweet car by the way. did you swap from the stock LS motor? if you did, .. why go from the B18 to B16? obviously the B16 is the DOHC VTEC and has tons of potential, but for about the same price you could have probably found a GSR motor which would have kept your 1.8 status and still had VTEC. i dunno, i guess it's preference. are you going to boost it or stay NA? maybe bottle? :) maybe you could just get that kid's H22.. he sure won't be needing it.

haha dude i am still 15, i havent even driven it yet let alone worked on it, i'll drive it to bear next season (not this one) and you can look at it, but by then it should be turboed, i think my dad is giving in.

You should def. turbo your 1.6... you won't be dissapointed. I ran 12 lbs daily... and killed everything.

But yeah... you shoulda stuck with the B18... I always got worked with my B16 even when I was running more boost... B18 turbo's just have the craziest torque spikes in mid-range... and that extra displacement will spool the turbo quicker too...duh.

My buddy just turboed his 92 teg as well... shit is tight... and he has the 1.6 swap too. He is on hondatech.com constantly.... lots of good tech advice there if your looking... and clubsi.com is a really good place too. But I don't use that shit anymore...b/c my baby is goneee.

holy shit! someone knew that an '89 is an S13! haha, wow, i'm just not used to anyone on newschoolers knowing cars at all.

but... you shouldn't underestimate Honda's and definately not NA cars. My friend (who i mentioned earlier) has the H22A (JDM 2.2L DOHC VTEC), which makes 202 HP bone stock. the bolt ons (header, intake, full 2.5" exhaust, etc.) bring it to about 230, and the full Skunk 2 internals beef it up to about 295-300. Add in the Hondata tuned ECU, full MSD ignition, 370cc injectors, APEXi AFCII controller, 114 octane race fuel and he produced 384HP to the wheels on a FWD Dyno 2 weeks ago, and spun the engine to 10,250 RPM, making power the whole way. with the 8lb flywheel, 4 puck ACT clutch, and 225/40/17 Falken AZENIS and he runs a 12.6 s quarter mile at 124mph.

My 240SX is 2.4L DOHC turbocharged/intercooled, running 13lbs of boost, plus the mods listed in the other post, and he beats my ass every time in a straight line (although mine is RWD so it's tons more fun HAHA). Every saturday night in Philly at the street races he beats the SHIT out of corvettes, V8 'stangs, you name it. Now that is some straight up FWD japanese whoop ass... and he's not boosting or spraying :)

 
hell, haven't been on here for a long time, i got the 90 subaru legacy L wagon, before that i had the 90 loyal wagon, but i hated that car and wrecked it

fuck man... 384 is rediculous for NA... unheard of when I was into tuning(2-4 years ago)... at least at the Denver altitude... But 384 and only 12's? I was at just under 280whp on 10lbs (B16).. and boosting 12-14lbs ran mid-high 12's with a consistant trap speed of like 108, 108, 108, and then throw in an occasional 112.

I have an 86 Jetta GLI. It's ugly on the outside, north american bumpers and bad paint, but it's purdy on the inside with new seats and everything else is pretty much mint in there. My stereo is pretty good, all the electrics are good, but the engine is beat. It was beat when I got it and I drive it hard so it's a bit worse now, but it still gets me places pretty nicely.

Reedy, nice choice on the R32.

And... for the SuperTurbo Charging type stuff, VW and Eaton have a SuperTurbo, I don't know when they'll release it, though. It's basically a small supercharger to give low end power and eliminate turbo lag, once the turbo is at full boost the super cuts off and it's all turbo from there. They have a 1.4L at 140hp with 180lbft of torque, 1.8L with 180hp and 220lbft (I think), and a 2.0L with 220hp and 280lbft (I think). I'm not sure of the last figures... but the 1.4L stats are right. Either way it's pretty awesome.

He's only ran 12's on street tires. first time at the track he ran on a set of 215/45/17 Fuzion ZRi's and smoke was pouring from the wheel wells all the way into 5th... haha. obviously that didn't work.

2 weeks later he got the 225/40/17 Falken AZENIS, still a street tire, but stepped up. he ran the 12.6 @124mph spinning the tires through 4th this time... and he was on 93 oct. pump gas. It's freakin ridiculous.

He's inthe process of "acquiring" some Nitto street slicks, and we're hunting down another 50 gal. drum of 114 race fuel, so we'll see what it does next time, i'm guessing it'll be mid to low 11's, possibly high 10's, but it all depends on whether or not he can get traction.
