yes i program in VB, C, C+, C++, C sharp. but thats not my major. i am a computer engineer focusing mainly on the harware part of the pc. i tried to stay away from teh programming.
Dicksta i am on the deployment team, i make all the .msi and programs to roll out. i am constantly searching through 7000 pc's trying to find ones that have not been upgraded, then upgrading. if anyone need new software, im the one they call, if the database is down, they call me, if the server is down, they call me. so no its no low enrty job. i am a co-op do you know what that means. let me help you out then. it means after my first year of college i am able to start applying to corporations. such as P&G, GE, and many other technology based companies. so i have completed a year and i found my co-op. i have a total of 5 years and i switch every quarter from school to work full time. this quarter i am working full time for the first time every making $30 grand. thats with 1 year education. i still have 4 more years of college to complete and i get raises each year. once im done with my 5 year i will be a full employee with all benefits here at my company. be making close to $100 g's. so see you think im dumb but really ive got everything planned out, im ahead of the game when all you ppl are going to college not knowing if your ever gonna get a job. ive got my job for life right now and i think starting at 30 grand a year after 1 year college is fucking damn good.
my dad was trainging a co-op at GEAE where he works and his co-op was a 4.0 student from Notre Dame and he was making 12.85/hour. thats less than i make and im no 4.0 student ill tell ya that.
antadam 3 grand is outragious, i built my 1.77 GHz amd athlon, geforce4 TI 4400, soudblaster live, 768 DDR ram, 90 GB HD, 48x cd burner, printer, scanner, gigabyte mobo support up to 2.3 GHz, 17' flat screen, wireless optical mouse all for $859. i built that 2-3 years ago and havent touched it since, no problems nothing. hasnt been shut down in over a year. so if you would rather pay 3 grand for a computer that does nothing more than a pc besides for video editing and stuff like that, more power to ya. all im saying is that ur paying way too much for what ur using it for when u could go and buy 4 of my computers for the same price and triple the amount of work you could be doing on editing or anything else.
andyrightcoast the amount of money i make might mean jack shit but dont u need money to do just about anything in todays society. so seeing how that is tue i would say money is everything. u couldnt ski right now if u didnt have money. so if its not jack shit id like to see how much u make when ur 19 with 1 year of college and 4 more to come. ive worked since i was 12 so dont tell me i dont know the value of money. i dont know many ppl that work when they are 12. but i was working my ass off at 12 not able to do anyhting on weekend because i was an umpire for baseball games.
