overall i think its dope that they don’t have bibs and we see more variety than 5 years ago. i never thought id be stoked on someone from indiana skiing in jeans and a hoodie before. yet i was pumped to see goepper goonin. i think its pretty relaxed depending on the athletes individual sponsors

Rell Harwood going hard in the full Harlaut Apparel kit. Not sure who Taiga Hasegawa's outerwear sponsor is but he looked dope in some huge baggy shit. Goepper was also a standout in his jeans and carhartt hoodie. Also just stoked all around they didn't do bibs this year. Some dudes look wack but at least they got the freedom to wear whatever.

my guess is that by removing the bibs, the athletes are more likely to reshare throughout the year so the focus would be to create an environment that is recognizable. so these outerwear companies we dont see much of, unique feature builds, and all the banners and infrastructure in the back will make you say oh that was at X Games.

It was pretty obvious to me that companies paid their athletes to show off gear at xgames, whether it was more than before or not, it was far easier to see the athletes outfits/graphic on their clothing without a bib with a huge logo on it.

Going no bibs is a bonus for the athlete in their negotiations with outerwear sponsors. This move from XGames stands to benefit the athlete’s outerwear deals. Also I’m noticing so many shared posts from XGames and athletes. Also a great benefit to growing the athletes own channel.
Both of these are great things in a few ways. More money into skiers pockets, larger audience directly to the skier, less forced storyline announcing style from XGames hopefully. I always was turned off when they were obviously playing kingmaker to keep more laypeople engaged in the broadcasts.
With anything on the business side of this stuff I’m always very passionate about the skiers being taken care of. As far as x games goes right now I like what I’m noticing and I hope to see even more ways for the homies to get paid.
