What's with rolling yo ski pants above boots

I really don't get this, is there something in the Full tilt instruction manual that says you can't have your ski pants past the cuff of your boot? Of course this does not relate only to FT but 75% of Full Tilters do this. I see alot of people skiing powder like this as well, do they just not give a shit about snow in their boots? I don't understand the tall tee thing but I really don't understand this fad. The only benefit I see is not cutting up your pants, but I can go 2,3 years without so much as a few abraisions and a cut or two. I can't help but cracking up every time I see this.

Full Tilt probably wants you to do that so everyone can see that you're wearing Full Tilts. And they'll be like 'OHSNAP HE'S WEARIN FALL TALTS, MUST WANT'.

But I usually do it so they don't get cut or chafed.

I only do it when Im hiking a rail so it's less of a hassle to click into my bindings w/o getting my pants caught. other than that it's kinda pointless

I don't know why someone would do it while skiing pow, that's just silly.

I started doing it a few years ago while riding park because I was always adjusting my boots. With constant buckling, unbuckling, tightening, and loosening, I figured it was just easier to roll up my pants above my boots so I didn't have to pull the pant gaiter up and down all the time.

I rolled up my pants purely because of functionality, not style. However, newschool skiing has nothing to do with functionality and everything to do with style, so I must be missing something.

I roll mine up when i'm riding dryslope or a backyard set up so the hems don't get scuffed or get caught... or when i'm walking; so it's more about being practical over fashion for me

However I think it can look pretty sick though sometimes... but certainly not in pow!

I think it looks pretty sick if you have steezy boots like full tilts or spks. i have raichles so id never do it haha. also you dont get the back of your pants stuck in your bindings or step on them while walking

OMGGGG HEZZZ GOT DA FULLL TIL337'SSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally think it looks like shit but to each his own i guess

I've almost made this thread like 100 times. I really don't understand where it started even, I've never seen any pro riders do it (and they would have the most reason to, since assuming they're sponsored by said boot company, showing off their boots would be beneficial to them). I honestly think this is the worst trend in skiing and the only people I see do it, tend to be kinda douchy....(just a generalization...not always true).

I wear Full Tilts, and I roll up my pants.

But that only happens when I have shoes on. I don't want to catch my pants on the shoes. They get all torn up!

i got ft and i only roll up my pants when im walking up from the lodge but when im skiing i always wear my pants down

I do it with my FT's when its really slushy/warm out, so the bottom of my pants don't get soaked.

But the Gahblin does it...

Raichles are fultilts.

I started doing it while I was working because i didnt feel like tearing up my pants. Then I started doing it occasionally while I was just skiing so I could adjust boots easier. Now I do it all the time because Im tall and it makes my pants look baggier (Dont like to sag)

So started off for function now I like the look

GUYS. people roll their pants in the parkin lot soo they dont get on the ground. they do it while their skiing either, A cause they have hot doggers. B so their pants dont get wet in pow or slush. or C. cause they wanna look gyspy. thread done.

Come on, it's just a type on style. If you don't like it it's your choice so who cares ?I can also say: Why do I ski my pants so low ? Snow doesn't come in ? actually no.Why do I often my jacket open with under my tall tee falling to my knees ?
Skiing park with pants rolled in FT is just a question of style. Though in powder its stupid, i dont really get that but anyway you're not the one who will have damp socks.

I care because it's exceedingly rediculous. I would also question people wearing boxers on the outside of their jeans, it's like that. And you don't need to roll your pants above your boots to keep them free of parking lot grit, an inch or two will do. I don't lose sleep over this, it just seems like the most bizaar ski fashion trend. Really, wear bubble wrap clown wigs for all I care, just noticed a widespread trend that seemed a little off. Cheers NS.

i would rather have torn up pants than have to look like an idiot. Im sure most people do it to show off their boots.

i'm too lazy to roll my pants over my boot somedays, or just forget too. i roll them up in the firstplace at the end of the day so when im walking through the parking lot they don't get torn up. also when i click into my bindings for any reason i don't have to worry that they get caught inside of it. plus the bottoms of my snowpants are already terribly torn from last year when i didn't appreciate my gear as much as i do now so it kind of hides the huge holes in the cuffs of my pants.

basically, i don't like the way it looks when i have my snowpants rolled up, but it's more functional. don't assume that we park rats are always taking style over functionality, cause we ain't.

Its the same exact boot, shell, liner, everything. Get boots that fit and then they wont be uncomfortable

I do it when i first start skiing in the morning. cant have my boots done right up from the get go. but i do think it can look quite sick with FTs
