Whats ur storys of being kicked off urban rails and stuff

ive heard some crazy storys and have seen some crazy vids and it sucks getting in trouble for trying to hit an urban rail and get the cops called on you or somthing i have gotten in trouble trying to hit urban and its not fun i juat want to hear what NS has to say about it or some storys or somthing

the people who are smart don't have crazy ass stories about it, they quietly pack their things up and leave so that the spot doesn't get fucking blown out.

i've never been kicked out of an urban spot, this year was my first year hitting any urbans and they were mostly in secluded places (parks, football field)

the closest ive come to a crazy story was when i was hitting a rail downtown and it was kinda in a pavillion thing, some homeless guy walked right over the kicker and chilled behind us and looked around for a while, minding his own business he just walked away. we ended up seeing like 5 more hobos that day.

rail looked like this

We were hitting this rail on top of what looked like it used to be a building and a couple people called us in. When the cop showed up he was real chill, gave us a half an hour more to get the shot but said we had to get going after that.

He then asked us if we knew anything about the spot, and went on to tell us that it used to be a house that got condemned after the guy living there shot his girlfriend and hid her in the garage for a few months. I guess there was an old episode of cold case based on it. Creepy. We got some sick shots there though :)

did some urban at my school. it was wicked fun, people stop by and watch. Campus Police did absolutely nothing. Crazy.

cops in ct don't really know what urban skiing is so i have never had a hard time. i've had cops drive right by without even giving us a second glance. as long as the owner of the property has no problems with it, there really is not much of a reason to get kicked out.

yeah nobody in CT really knows urban skiing/snowboarding. i get bitched at all the time for stealing baseball bleachers for skateboarding, and they were certainly not impressed when they found us out in the soccer field with snowboards being towed behind a car.

The cops asked us to leave so we packed up, cleaned the spot up and couldn't be more courteous. Making a scene is dumb, just creates a stereotype and shuts down spots.

Me and two other kids were hitting this dfd behind some warehouse at 11 at night. Around midnight or so a truck pulled up and the property manager came out and told us he was sick of coming and finding us hittin this rail and giving us the whole nine yards. He kicked us out but told us we had to clean everything up. We tried to explain to him this was our first time hitting the rail and we had never been kicked out of there before. He wasn't having it and kept giving us crap. Rather than running our mouths we realized well we cleaned is he was going to stay there for as long as we cleaned up. So we preceded to clean up the parking lot after the handrail was picked up we started cleaning up the sidewalks and no where we had been. We cleaned up for a solid 2 and a half hours and shoveled all the sidewalks and road and picked up little ice chunks around the road. Eventually he called us over and told us he felt bad and just wanted to get to bed so we could leave. Killing em with kindness! No apology was ever more satisfying.

Not really

kicked out but last winter me and a friend (who is a boarder) went to our local

sledding hill (basically the only hill in a 10 mile radius and it’s just 30

feet tall, yeah for living in the Netherlands.)

Off course there were a lot of kids but we were being very considerate and

paying attention to all of them and we let them go in front of us, this way

earning trust from the parents who after the initial WTF, were finding it quite

awesome to see us ski and we had a couple of chats with various parents. After

a while, we build a little kicker off to the side on a part where the kids were

not sledding down from because the snow was too deep.

After

hitting that kicker for quite some time all of the sudden a 9-year old with a

sled went down it, he fell and started to cry. Immediately we heard some kind

of crazy battle cry and his dad ran up the hill at incredible speed (Seriously

you should have seen it, he would have beaten Usain Bolt.), he kicked the jump

apart with one swift kick of his burly boots, and proceeded to climb up whilst

hurling some insults to us. When he finally reached us, he started to scream

and insult us even more. We just stood there flustered watching this dad rage

hard

Then a dad stood up and started to insult him because “he was using curse words

near children” and “that it was the own fault of that kid for falling”. This

kept going for a couple of minutes until they started to fight, I had send down

my friend to check on the kid but the kid had nothing and had left because he

was ashamed of his dad because he thought we were cool for skiing and boarding

from the hill. The fight ended when other parents pulled them apart and both

dads left. We just stood there in amazement; it made no sense what so ever.

that sounds nuts. a similar situation happened to me while i was reffing a soccer game. i generally do a terrible job reffing and during a very physical game the two coaches nearly got in a fight. definetally an awkward situation to deal with.

the only story i have getting kicked off urban wasnt even really urban. our school was doing construction and we stole a big pvc pipe from the construction site to sesh. the school found out somehow and we had to talk to the superindentent and the school called our house.

Awesome thread! Here's one of my good ones.

I was helping a crew film a rail in New Hampshire. Cops show up as we are literally putting the generator back into the car, skis were already put away.

I chatted with the officer for a few minutes and as it turns out, he is a skier. He lived in Squaw for a few years and was very interested in what we were up to. He even said that he used to film some big mountain lines back in his day. Awesome!

So I asked him if we could get setup and hit it a few times more to show him... He says yes. We pull out the generator and lights to get everything setup again and hit the rail a few more times.

The best part was when another cop came and he went right over and told him that we were ok and he had it under control. (he did tell us that if his superior showed up he'd have to pretend to be kicking us out). All in all, a very successful mission to say the least.

AND.... Here's the kicker. That session was part of the Freeskier Road Trip Challenge. It would have been RAD if anyone ever got to see that shit. Getting to hit a rail while a cop watched was worth a lot of points. *sigh*

never been kicked off one. just gotta be smart man, and if the cops come just be cool about it but i did get a bunch of 13year old snowboarders sit and watch me and a friend sesh for like an hour. felt like a boss afterbanging everytime outta the rail.

Theres a 40 foot DFD at a school near me and we hit it pretty much every time it snows. Theres a street lamp about 10 feet away from the rail so we use that for light. So its like 1am and were seshing this rail and the cops show up. We have a ton of shit and ski gear so theres no point in running.... So basically the cops think we were "vandalizing" the rail on school property... so I got detained.

Didn't get kicked out...but while we were building the jump a dad and his kid were walking by and the kid said, "Hey dad, what are they doing?". The dad responded by saying, "I don't know, they are probably on drugs."

We also had an old couple come by and say "What are you doing? Do your parents know you're out here?" We said yes and they looked at the rail and said "Are you going to try and grind that metal pipe? You're gonna get yourself killed..." and walked away.

lulz

SHIT LIKE THIS SEEM TO HAPPEN TO ME ALL THE TIME.

ONE TIME I WAS IN THESE WOODS AND I WAS GONNA DROP DOWN THIS ROOTY STEEP THING ON MY BIKE AND SOME FUCKING HOBO COMES OUT OF THE WOODS WITH A COOLER AND A FISHING ROD AND STARTS HECKLING ME. HE KEPT TRYING TO CONVINCE ME NOT TO DO IT CAUSE THE THOUGHT I WAS RETARDED. JUST WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO GO CAUSE HE WALKED AWAY HE TURNED AROUND AND YELLED "DONT DO IT" AND PSYCKED ME OUT. I STILL MADE IT DOWN JUST FINE AND I ALMOST HIT HIM CAUSE HE WAS STANDING RIGHT WHERE I WAS TRYING TO GO. HE WAS LIKE "OH WELL YOU DID IT THIS TIME BUT ONE TIME YOU WON'T BE SO LUCKY" AND I WAS LIKE "OKAY MAN HAVE FUN FISHING" THEN HE MUMBLED SOME SHIT CAUSE HE WAS PROBABLY ON CRACK

only time i've been kicked out of a spot was skateboarding , they were marble ledges ,

the security guy was pretty much an ass , but the guy from the university was chill ,

he told us to come back at night so we wouldn have any problem cause marble is expensive ,

not that intersiting
