I have been reading that most of the ski resorts in michigan will not have any tables this year. Why is this nubs some what said but whats the real reason?

I believe it all stems from a lawsuit out west...

Plus I heard that a kid at nubs paralyzed himself last year or something like that, but thats not the reason, because a ton of resorts are doing it. Somethin with insurance issues.

god damn this is gonna feel good....

wait for it...

WAIT FOR IT...

it mostly due to the high insurance cost form the many lawsuits happening. the insurance wont cover jumps and ski areas cant adford it and the is no laws in michigan that protect ski areas from stupid people like there is in co and ut. it sucks

SnowTrails knows about that law suit and is building a park based from that its rider built and tested before its open to the public. we have 3 park this year. one for every skill rider there is! the SoBe will be built for Experts only!!! Alpine is for intermediate and the small park if for beginners only!

The problem was about the out west one was that there park staff was unaware of the ppl that got hurt the resort management kept it to them self and did nothing about it.

At SnowTrails we r not taking this lawsuit light if something is wrong with out features we shut them down until they are fixed Park Staff is aware of everything that goes on with the Parks... so at SnowTrails you should feel safe to ride jumps and rails and in all a really good park as well

there was a huge page on this topic entitled "jumping is dangerous" it was on the front page im not sure anymore... gives explanation as to why resorts are not featuring jumps any longer... it was pretty good

the whole rcr news came about after the original no tables news, they're a different thing alltogether.

I was talking with the park guy at my hill and he layed it out and compared it to the whole skatepark scene....and how some number of years ago skate parks blew up and so did the number of skateboard-related injuries and thus lawsuits. finally people realized that it was a dangerous thing to undertake and parents stopped suing places and everyone got their shit together and manned up. fast forward a few years, look around you, skate parks in almost every city you go to, people still skating and progressing ......... thats the way he put it. skiings just really blowing up fast, so is the terrain, and some people who are exposed to it that shouldn't ever evvvver be.
