What's up with K2 radius specs?

I'm used to seeing sidecut radius listed as meters of turning radius for a certain ski length, like 18.5m radius for a 176cm ski. But K2 lists sidecut in millimeters, which I assume is not the turning radius at all but how much of the ski is cut away at the waist. How am I supposed to compare that to the industry standard sidecut radius specs? Do they expect me to dust off my old calculus books and do the calculation myself or something?
 
It's not the width of the ski and it's not the sidecut radius either. K2 has their own unique way of indicating the curve of the ski. Imagine if you were to hold the ski perfectly vertical. Then imagine a vertical line that goes down from the edge of the widest part of the tip. Imagine another vertical line that goes up from the most narrow part of the waist, The distance between those two lines would be the sidecut in millimeters. Go to www.k2skis.com and look at the specs for some of their skis. The sidecut is measured in millimeters; it is not the radius in meters.
