Ok, I've done this grab many times just as some sort of instinct, and it's like a Japan or Stalefish exactly, but hand grabbing in front of the binding instead of behind. Is it still a fucked up stale, or something else?

 
No, like right hand to left binding in the same position as a stale or japan (I've done it with both), but instead of hand going behind the legs to the left binding, the right hand goes in front to the left binding. It's really the same thing in a sense, but I've always heard japans and stales explained using the behind the legs.

 
I dont really get it...if your skis are crossed I think its a mute grab or it could be just a safety, usually a safety is instinct for people.

No skis crossed, like i said, just imagine a stale for example, but hand grabs in front of the legs instead of behind. And it doesn't really make a difference to me which way I do it, just sometimes I automatically go out front because it seems more natural somehow.
