I just spend the morning in a mouse suit taking pictures with kids for a book opening. it was shitty and not very high pay. what was your worst job?

door-to-door for green peace. Doors slammed in my face and walking around in the pouring rain.

Going underground about a 100m, into a 500m long tunnel which was completely filled with shelf after shelf containing millions of discarded Finnish mark coins bagged in 5kg bags.

Take bag, rip it open trying not to inhale the copper/other dust shit that flew in the air and empty into barrels, 100kg each and drag barrels into a gigantic room to be dealt with later. The most tedious job I've ever had.

Door to door paint salesman. On the plus side, we would get drunk and try different accents at every house.

Wow, what convenient timing for this thread to exist. I currently have the worst fucking job imaginable on the entire fucking planet. It's literally the worst job ever, there is nothing good about it. I hate it. It sucks. It's really stupid. I fucking hate it.

Well maybe you should tell us what you do so we can feel bad for you. Right now it just seems like your bitching about a job.

Everyone else gave descriptions of their shitty jobs. For all we know you could have a great job and just bitch about it for no reason, thus making the thread pointless.

dude you don't even know....customers suck, you get bitched at for no reason at all .... you don't set the prices in the store and they bitch at you like you own the place....or maybe they were having a bad day and they feel like emptying their life story on you....it can really blow.

I never really had a bad job, because I just enjoy work in general what ever it is...but the worst would be this party rental place I worked for one summer during highschool...we set up tents, tables and chairs out doors for grad parties/weddings etc....that blew...one time (at band camp haha) we had a 150ft tent set up with 300 chairs and 150 tables... astorm came through and ripped it all down over night and we had to get up there in the morning to save the wedding....that day was horrible

must be that time of the month again

probably landscaping for me. or quiznos. both were grunt-ish jobs with not much upside. there are days at my current job elbow deep in piss blood vomit and shit where I am like "wtf am I doing here...."

couple of other jobs I've had:

1. sat in these tiny little desks/booths, sort of like the one's you go into when you vote, and I'd have a rotary phone and a phone book and had to go through and cold call people asking if they wanted to buy tickets to a magic show that benefits the DARE program.

2. Then another time I was hired as a "recruiter"-- basically a head hunter-- I was really excited about the job but when I showed up they just handed me a phone book and a file on a really unqualified, shitty applicant, and told me to cold call businesses and try to get someone to hire her.

3. I was hired by an upscale billiard parlor to dress skanky and walk around challenging customers at games of pool. If they could beat me they'd get free drinks, and I'd teach them trick shots. It was actually really fun while it lasted, but then my employer tried to make me attend mandatory training several times a week unpaid, and freaked out when I told him I was pretty sure he had to pay us for that time. I filed an L&I claim for unpaid wages and the employer hired a lawyer to fight me. I ended up winning and the owner of the parlor was so butt hurt he 86'd me from ever going into his bar/parlor again. Not that Id want to go there, but it's about a block from my house and lots of people like to go there so not even having the option of going in is pretty lame.

Foundation drilling monitoring. I had to sit around, underground, for 12 hours a day watching a contractor drill holes. All I did was write down how deep they were.

It's up there with cleaning out the troff drains at a public pool.

i worked in a box factory for a summer, shift work hours.

it was boring as hell but it was good exercise and it was a nice place to think.

insert rest of box factory tour here:

dishwasher in one of the dirtiest kitchens in my area. Hot as sin in the summer and the screen doors didn't close all the way so you'd be covered in mosquito bites by the end of a night shift.

i worked in a deli in a grocery store. im 95% sure my boss didnt graduate high school, my co-workers were all under achieving community college kids who were so depressed about their miserable lives that they had lost all notions of manners or social skills, and the place was filthy. mold and dirt caked up on everything and everyone was too lazy to clean it, they dumped out the water from mopping the floor into the dish washing sink, food got left out over night, home-brewed cleaning chemicals got sprayed inside the deli cases over the food, etc. i finally quit when i was instructed to serve 2 week expired macaroni salad.

The worst job that i ever had was roofing houses this summer. First of all, its hot as shit it feels like 120 degrees with the tarpaper layed. Also, shake roofs were a bitch to remove. I made decent money but i would never do it again.

Probably opening bails of Spray in fiberglass insulation and dumping them into a hopper all day, the shit would go everywhere I would end up breathing it in my nose and mouth, I would blow my nose at the end of the day and it would be straight blue it was fucking disgusting

Working at little ceasers. Shitty management, minimum wage, shitty working conditions, shitty location and women trying to run the show :/ not fun haha. I quit thr shit to ski

gas line construction- services and mains. so fucking shitty but was making 36/hour which made it barely worth it

emt in nyc you would not believe how many people try to attack you/stab you with a syringe while trying to help them.

My current job working in the kitchen at Cane's Chicken Fingers. Being yelled at every day for not placing chicken into a box properly by someone who's younger than you sucks.

you couldn't have expected anything different though, i mean that's what the thread is for...

I'll preface this by saying, I was lucky to have the job at all and lucky to be making slightly above minimum wage at the time....

But the job I personally disliked the most was retail sales for Polo Ralph Lauren back in high school. Douchebag central.

My job is so fucking unbelievable. I'll try to sum it up by first telling you about the folks I work with:

First, there is this supermodel wanna-be chick. Yeah, okay, she is pretty hot, but damn is she completely useless. The girl is constantly fixing her hair or putting on makeup. She is extremely self-centered and has never once considered the needs or wants of anyone but herself. She is as dumb as a box of rocks, and I still find it surprising that she has enough brain power to continue to breathe.

The next chick is completely the opposite. She might even be one of the smartest people on the planet. Her career opportunities are endless, and yet she is here with us. She is a zero on a scale of 1 to 10. I'm not sure she even showers, much less shaves her "womanly" parts. I think she might be a lesbian, because every time we drive by the hardware store, she moans like a cat in heat.

But the jewel of the crowd has got to be the fucking stoner. And this guy is more than just your average pothead. In fact, he is baked before he comes to work, during work, and I'm sure after work. He probably hasn't been sober anytime in the last ten years, and he's only 22. He dresses like a beatnik throwback from the 1960's, and to make things worse, he brings his big fucking dog to work. Every fucking day I have to look at this huge Great Dane walk around half-stoned from the second-hand smoke. Hell, sometimes I even think it's trying to talk with its constant bellowing. Also, both of them are constantly hungry, requiring multiple stops to McDonalds and Burger King, every single fucking day.

Anyway, I drive these fucktards around in my van and we solve mysteries and shit.

I have 2 jobs at the moment. Both of them have their perks, and then sometimes they both just really fucking suck.

I have been working in a horse barn since I was 8 years old and its not really the best job ever. I don't mind it now, I actually like it better than the other one I have (I am also a hostess at a Chinese restaurant). I love horses - and my best friend lives on the farm where the horse I ride is at. The thing is, is that they're ridiculously expensive to care for and pay for, so in order to continue to get the privilege of riding I had to work for it. Basically shovelling out stalls, cleaning out paddocks, repairing fences, caring for sick horses, feeding all 30 of them - the list goes on and on. The barn has zero heating or air conditioning so when its minus 30 and you're shovelling horse shit or breaking ice out of water buckets with a sledge hammer it gets pretty sucky. Not to mention when its summertime and there are a million flies everywhere and you boss asks you to clean out the smelly water buckets that have mosquito larvae on them or when there are maggots in the feed bins.... and I don't get paid hourly, its by the amount of work I do. Sometimes I can clean out 6 stalls in an hour so I get paid 10$ (5$ per stall) in about an hour which is pretty good. Other times it can take upwards of an hour to just do 3 if its wintertime and the horses have to stay indoors longer and their shit freezes making it impossible to clean up.

My other job I would say sucks equally as bad, but for different reasons. I work at a Chinese place as a hostess and my boss and majority of my coworkers hardly speak any English and demands a ton of time from me. Its pretty ridiculous, actually I have to go to all these meetings and organize all these dumb events for the company even though I don't get paid for it. And what I do get paid for sucks. I operate takeout orders, sometimes we get about 300+ a night (this restaurant is MASSIVE) sometimes only 50 because the company I work for is cheap as fuck they only let 2 people work the takeout counter, and sometimes I have 6 people on hold on the telephone and am entering in orders while handing people their change and food for the order they came to pick up. On a decently busy night we will have 1000+ people in the restaurant at once and I will have to seat them, make change for the servers without a register (which is tricky when there is 1000$ orders or bills) and then clean up and wash glasses. I am expected to be able to do any job and if my boss catches me not doing something 100% right I WILL get yelled at and given a big long speech about values, honour, and upholding standards. Having 100 or so people in the lobby of the atrium is disgusting, it gets to be like a mosh pit of hungry, white trash customers who sneeze, cough and bitch loudly when they feel they aren't being served fast enough. Ive been singled out and screamed at before by hungry customers and it really fucking sucks. I have to always be nice to these fucking disgusting people and sometimes it makes me want to scream. If I am lucky, I get stuck on dishes duty. Oh and I make under minimum wage too. I get paid only 9.60$ an hour.

So there you go. Both of my jobs are pretty much terrible. I applied for a job as skiing instructor at my local hill and hopefully (fingers crossed) I get the job. Until then, I have to suck it up and work hard at these bad jobs. Being 17 fucking sucks because no one wants to take you seriously when hiring and I am too young to legally serve booze (although my manager doesn't care at the Chinese place - she's tried to train me as a bartender already)

I bust my ass daily, get yelled at about what a shitty job I do. My bad, 'm just talking about being married... Shake and Bake
