Whats the punishment

for not fixing a faulty equipment the day you get it? i live in new york state and the other day i got pulled over and was given a ticket for having a light on my liscense plate out. i fixed it but did not the the form signed because i had to work and could not find a police officer to do it. not i cant get it signed because its too late. so i have to go to court for it. what kind of fines or whatnot am i looking at ?

thats wack i have a simalir story my friend got pulled over today for a muffler thing but he doesnt have his licence shit was gay
 
usually you have ten days to comply. If your sure your out of time and have to go to court just go and explain to the judge that you fixed it. Might wanna go show the cops just to prove it before you go to court. Just say judge I fixed it but was really busy. They'll let you slide I'm sure, they have way bigger stuff than this to worry about. I know plenty of people that tear them up and throw them out as well.
 
i'm pretty sure that if you even go to court to try to fight something like that then oftentimes they'll reduce your fine. although i'm in Washington...
