everywhere else is 19

we had a big discussion about this in class the other day and my teacher told us that the drinking age was raised in ontario to get alcohol out of schools. we had grade 13 here in ontario until a few years ago so the grade 13s, who were legal drinking age, we're able to sell their legally bought booze to kids. thats the story

theres no way in hell they were able to sell their alcohol legally unless of course they acquired a liquor license but then again it would still be illegal because theyd be selling to minors

^i dont mean selling like in class to kids. i mean that at parties, you'd have 16,17,18 year olds are mingling so whats gonna happen? are the 18yr olds gonna drink while the 16 yr olds have a glass of warm milk? no. raising the drinking age just got alcohol out of the schools and into uni/colleges.

meh, it's not like one year matters, most 18 year old people that I know around here (in B.C. where d.a. is 19) drink anyway. and it's not like your parents are going to care if your 18 and drinking, I mean your an adult, they have no say

^it's true that most 18yr olds drink if they want to. But it does make a big difference for going to bars and clubs and things like that. Even though I had a fake not all my friends did so we couldn't go out very often to places that serve alcohol.

in norway its 18, but ppl underneath stil drink, we often get chased away from our party spots by the cops tho, except if we are doing home alon parties

 
its funny in america that its still 21.

they will let you fight and possibly die in a foreign war when you are 18 or 19, but still won't let you drink.
